Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

You don't like getting 30K Delta Miles for $75? That would cost you $1,050 if you were buying them on the street! I think it's SERIOUS VALUE.

Glad to see this back in some small form.

Rick shocked to see that after the last round, where several employees of the HI branch got FIRED because of all the flyertalkers opening out-of-state accounts, that you actually had the gall to go and ask them if they would do it again. And now asking others to check THEIR local branches? That is seriously distasteful. Nothing you wouldn't do for miles???

Really, people got fired for that? I didn't know that and even though Rick sent them a fruit platter or something, it hardly makes up for getting fired. Almost nothing would in this economy. I'm pretty sure Rick didn't mention it on his blog or apologize.

If that is indeed the case, then it is very distasteful to be asking again in the HHI branch.

Kids: anyone able to open a kids account online? I managed to open mine, but was told that custodian accounts (which are required to have the kids name on the card and thus have a unique skymiles member number to them applied to it) can only be done in a branch?

I opened both a personal checking and a business checking today in branch. The associate said that the monthly account fees (since I wont have enough in there to meet the minimums) wouldn't come out until 60 days from now.

Does anyone know how long after the POS purchase and direct deposit it takes for the miles to show up in your account, or what it was like in the past?

Im thinking that while I will have to pay the yearly card fees, if the miles show up before 60 days, then I can close both accounts and not have to pay 1 round of monthly fees, and this whole thing would net me 55K miles for a total of $200.

I read the T&C and I didn't see anywhere that states the miles are forfeited if you close the account, so Im assuming once they post, they are yours, hence the annual fee for the card. Any input or does anyone remember from the last time?

My saved online chat session specifically asking about 1099 for the bonus miles was answered with no 1099 would be issued. Only for interest earned on the account.
