Does anyone know what reporting agency do they use for the following:
- Amex Plat
- Barclays US Airways card
- Chase Sapphire Preferred

Yep, Capital One is known to hit all three.

As for the others:

- Amex Plat (Experian)
- Barclay's US Airways (TransUnion)
- Chase Sapphire Preferred (Experian)

This varies by region, but the above are valid for Colorado, based on personal experience, and other regions too, from what I have read.

+1 Here in NC

Chase used to pull Equifax here but all inquiries in 2011 have been Experian

Same for Citibank and Amex - all Experian

Barclays are only ones to have pulled TU and nobody using EQ any more it seems

Credit Card Inquiries

Sorry not sure if this is the right forum but how can you tell if multiple inquiries to your credit report got merged?

For example on Equifax:

Company Information:
CHASE BANK USA N.A Date of Inquiry:09/01/11, 07/13/11, 04/18/11, 12/17/10

is all on one line. Does that mean that's one inquiry or multiple?

Looks like 4 inquires from Chase to me. A merge happens when you apply for two cards from the same bank on the same day. You only see the date once in the list. They get merged when both pulls occur on the same day. Say you applied for two Chase cards on 09/01/11 and the date only shows up once in the list instead of twice because they merged the two pulls on 09/01/11 into one at the end of the day.

Which credit agency for Barclaycard

Hey all,

I'm considering applying for Barcleycard's (US) Miles&More credit card. Does anyone know which bureau they use? Asking because my score is not as good with one of them, so I'm hoping that they use one of the others :)

Hm... on further reading, it is most likely TransUnion, but it seems they may require proof of permanent residency, which I do not have :(

Anyone know where the UA Explorer card pulls from? An educated guess would be Experian, as it seems that Chase likes to pull using them....

Yep, in Colorado I can verify it's Experian for UA Explorer. And I believe it is Experian in almost every other region.

Turns out it's TransUnion, at least here in Chicago. Sucks, cause my TransUnion is not nearly as good as Experian.

I only have access to TransUnion via CreditKarma and Experian through CreditSelect - free if you have AAA subscription.

Called two different numbers for CitiBank (customer service, and account analyst 866-606-2787 via DansDeals, but they said nothing could be done. I was explained that as soon as the inquiry comes back as too many inquiries, the application is closed and denied. Perhaps if it was another reason, they could have done something more for me?

In 2010, Barclays used to pull a TransUnion in Florida, but currently they started to pull Experian in addition. Our 3 applications for US Airways MC were recorded in both Experian and TransUnion.

Another datapoint is that Citibank pulls 2 credit reports if applying for 2 cards simultaneously. I applied for ThankYou Premier card and for Hilton Visa, both were approved instantly, but there are 2 records on my Equifax report on the same day. Last year, for 2 Citi AA cards, there were only one pull.
