Funny how I had nothing much planned for 2010 just before New Year's. Between now and July, I've got 60 segments totaling 112K BIS (and 34,500 already flown this year). It may be time to take a break from booking flugs. :-:

Hopefully you don't end up with some free time in Houston this weekend... Forecasts are still all over the place and the NWS is saying it's too early to predict the storm track.

Yup, it can actually be more lucrative to start up north.

Good to know. Any good FD fares out there these days? Is BCN still the best we've got going?

If the timing works out for my meeting I'm going to try to get the LAN YYZ-JFK flight. It is cheaper than anything else heading back south and is a wide-body which is better than a Q4.

Time to check the CO Specials. :-:

I'll be happy if I can get to DCA Friday night...

Everyone's looking early, eh? There's good availability the 22nd, 23rd, 24th IIRC.

Any of these dates work for anyone?

I will have to check the schedule at work and see which dates will work for me. I hope I can do at least two fo these.

As I was saying on Monday night, the great thing about my job is that I have quite a bit of vacation time - but it is not flexible at all. Thus, I can't really justify taking a day off in late March when I have two weeks free in the beginning of the month.

Saturdays are half days, so I reserve the right to take off at least one sometime in May, but disappearing for a weekday is a lot less of a good idea.

I would assume there will be some more accurate information starting tomorrow, but the general consensus for the best case scenario seems to be 6-8". If the storm track shifts, I've heard as high as 18".

If CO starts a weather waiver for DCA, I may just move all or part of the trip out to the end of the month. We'll see how things look tomorrow...

I think if we can make it to DC on Friday, all should be :-:. Worst case scenario at that point would be some sort of weather waiver, resulting in a rescheduling of SFO. I'd just take the opportunity to enjoy a weekend in D.C., at that point (and probably SDC to an earlier CO flight on Sunday).

As mentioned above, this will probably be my approach as well. Perhaps I should make a refundable reservation at a DC hotel for Saturday night just in case we do get stuck...

I'm about to do so at an HHonors property (need 4 stays before May 31 for 50,000 point bonus).

MAD, BCN, DUB and SNN are all good. Generally, FRA and MUC can be good too.

If I can actually find an SPG property that will let me cancel on Saturday...

Was that a targetted promo? Given that i'll likely be making a few stays at the GEG HGI, it seems like a good idea to sign up.

Yes. I received a mailer (CO/HHonors co-branded) with an HHonors Gold Comp (was already silver). It also provided for 50K after 4 stays. IIRC, there's a generally available promo out there now for a free night after 4 stays (before March 31).
