I doubt that the End of More will be found on a golf course. I have hit a few "Jesus balls" (skipped across ponds) but was out with my best friend one day at Wicomico Shores in Maryland. There was a deer and a fawn on the rough off the right side of the fairway, no more than 50 yards from the tee box. I told my best friend "whatever you do, don't hit the deer". Want to guess what happens next?

Off to record a lecture.

Dinner was carnitas quesadillas. I made carnitas 4 weeks ago, and ended up freezing half of the meat. We both had good lunches and wanted something smaller. Yummeh!

Jesus ball, that's hilarious. :-:

I had the misfortune of slicing over the trees into the opposing fairway once. I tried to keep the ball low and punch thru the trees, only to hit the tree dead center and have a shot that was about 10 feet further back than where I started. That ball came back at me equal and opposite and I was staring at it doing so...I almost didn't get out of my own shot's way.

If not for the windshield arm of the golf cart, I would have brained my best friend with a ball that took a tree carom.

On the 16th at Bethpage Black, I hit my tee shot just off the green in some fescue right next to a trap. I tried to hit a delicate chip which turned into a headhunting rocket of a ball that went between my playing partner and our caddie. They both dove to the ground like they had been shot at. My ball mark is three blue dots in a triangle below the Titleist logo. The caddie said that the ball came at him in slow motion and that he saw the three dots very clearly as the ball flew past his head.

I once played the course in Carmel, IN (former GF) that the PGA tour uses. I hit a horrible tee shot and had about 210 yds left. I selected a 3 iron and wanted to blast thru trees. I hit perfectly and went over trees and someone ran back from green to tell me I had holed out... First eagle! :D I suck at golf.

I wanna play at Bethpage Black...

Anything to do with this Thread?

Not the greatest fare in the world, but LGA-IAH-SLC is available on CO for $167 a/i (5,222 EQMs = 3.2 cpEQM). Travel is good on M-Th through EOS (except for July and August). Same day turns are possible.

There are some similar fares to the west coast right now, but most have some sort of minimum stay.

You call 3.2 "not great"? Even I would truck to LGA for that.

No, I called it "not the greatest". ;) :D

A same day turn is miserable without a hotel near LGA the night before the right and the Sheraton in SLC isn't available on the dates I am considering. I'll have to play around with it a little more...

Nice. I do have a total of 1.5 unscheduled weeks in March (just don't know yet which ones they are) and this could be a good thing to pencil in for a random Tues/Wed.

I would consider it for the week that I am fiancee-free (3/23-24) and I would same-day turn twice. That is cheap enough on air alone but the hotels are a killer.

I'd probably tough out the early start if it was out of EWR, but I think it's a no go out of LGA with hotel costs.

Oh well, it's early in the year and I'm still on a decent track so far.
