Hrmm... it is 1/29... and no one from the Box has flown out of the country yet? Doubtful. Yet that's what the Box FM says...

Here's my thing on that. It IS a black/white issue. There is no gray. And when someone is selfish in a manner that puts others at risk I take exception.
We'd all like to think that we'd behave rationally and handle an evac in a sensible manner. Looking at history and what actually happens in those events, however, it is clear that such is much less common than folks would like to believe. Someone stating that they'd be OK in an exit row because their spouse would deal with the kids is lying to themselves. I did like the way 5 different people assumed that I didn't bother reading the post. That was fun. I agree absolutely 100% with you that if you are travelling with children, then you shouldn't be in an exit row for the exact reasons you profer. Speaking as a Mother, I, too, believe that it would be next to impossible to act rationally in an emergency knowing that your little ones were right behind you. I know I'd be quite happy to claw the eyes out of the person next to me if it meant I could save my children :p However, from a purely technical (leaving out the emotion/rationality/selfishness argument) viewpoint, I believe he had every right to ask for a seat in the exit row. He could, as he pointed out, have booked two separate PNRs. There was an adult who was charged with monitoring his children. So, although I love ya! and love ya posts, I do think that your comment was too black/white and based on your opinion about what is right or wrong. Having said that, I completely agree with you :) . The guy is totally lacking in any emotional or social intelligence if he thinks it is OK for him to sit in an exit row when his kids are on the plane! But this also raises the thorny question of: if I am travelling on the same plane as Mr.Brit and my two girls, and I get upgraded, should I take the F seat or not? ..............:D |
I think I am in an obstreporous mood tonight. :p

I'd rather not post explicit details, but you'd need a J.D.

I was just kidding, I figured it was in your line of specialty, not mine. Best of luck. not going to interfere with your MR next weekend is it?
Won't conflict with SFO DO. However, I would cancel a Bolivia/Gambia/PRG DO trip for this one. |

I may have just landed an interview for (IMHO) a dream job. Chance of (very) regular travel to Middle East, Central Asia, Oz, parts of Africa, and parts of S. America.

I just bought a fleet of my new favorite PBAM3 aircraft, the 738BBJ2 and the 319ACJ. They give me some nice reach along side of my 701LRs and I am backfilling with 739ERs.
