Vacation time for late March/early April has been requested....now I just have to wait for CORevenue_Insider to stop messing with the fare. This trip keeps changing +/- ~$100 by the day. I couldn't book it when it was $229 because the vacation wasn't approved yet....then it went to $289, up to $404, and back down to $259.....today it's back to $404.

YAPTA. ;)

G'morning B:px.

For those of you not reading out in the main forum, US-Asia via Europe is officially permitted now, without surcharges, on rewards. ^^

That is outstanding. Is VS a valid partner to Asia?

I would do something like that if I could book E+ the whole way.

You can (insofar as E+ seats exist on those flights). Someone gave you 3P, right? UA allows you to have two frequent flyer numbers in a reservation, one for accrual and one for benefits.

Aye, but I fear I might credit to UA in the hopes of obtaining 2P. I cannot fly in CO Y so there is no point in me crediting any further to CO at this point. If CO gets E+ or CO elites get access to E+ at booking, I am all over it. But at this point, E+ is a huge factor for me personally. A big part of why I haven't flown as much as I would like over the last couple of years is that regularly paying for F becomes cost prohibitive when you're not independently wealthy, heh. Being able to guarantee a seat I will (marginally) fit in at booking is where it is at for me right now. I'm hoping I can burn an F award with the CO miles I have as positioning (provided UA flights are not cost effective) and then do the sort of mileage run Fozz identified. That combined with a work trip or two and a personal trip or two may just get me to the 25,000 EQM threshold, and a DEQM event would all but assure it.

In the mean time, I will wait patiently and hope for an AUS based UA-metal MR to come along. :)

I'm signed up for that but the prices they're tracking are $150 more per ticket than at CO.com (for the same flights) so I'm not sure how much I trust it.

Also, I really wish (when it works) it could send SMS messages instead of just e-mail.

Morning, Box.

I believe so, with a surcharge. Many VS rewards have an up-charge on them. Details are in here.

You can have e-mail sent to your phone as SMS. Depending on who your carrier is, some combination of [email protected] will send messages to your phone as SMS.

Off to v:rolleyes:rk.

Forgot about that! Thanks!

Good morning, Box. Bit nippy round the old ankles, this morning, but at least the sun is shining, which is always a good thing IMHO. .

The textbook vendor that I found the book I needed for so much cheaper? Uh, yeah, I'm dumb. I'm expecting it to arrive today and I get an out of stock email overnight. You'd think they could have noticed it was out of stock just a smidge earlier?

Makes sense to me. I've been pretty loyal to UA, too, for a similar reason; I'm of average size, but if I'm on a plane for business, I need to be working (assuming I have work to do). I can't open my laptop in any non-exit-row seat on CO (leaving aside the fact that my posterior and back ache whenever I am seated in a CO Y seat for any length of time).

As you know, CO elites are supposed to get access to E+ at booking in the second quarter.

As for CO getting E+, my guess is that will happen about the same time CO starts giving away free ponies to Elites.
