Hey ALCO

I started my FM stuff. I have the cities written down, now I just have to remember how I got there. Then there is that step of putting all together on FM.

Too bad train trips don't count. I did alot of my travels around Europe on the train.

Open Flights haz this option

As an EAGLE SCOUT I appreciate that reference!! I still am amazzed!! Just another reason for me not to want kids. I already have enough of my own toys to bring along!!

I am one as well, don't travel with toys though

The key is to not go to bed from the night before and you are fine!! ;)

The success of being able to do that depends ENTIRELY on what you are doing on said night before.

Partying = generally works well

Packing, twiddling your thumbs around the house, and thinking "I can't go to sleep because I would have to be up in 1.5 hrs anyway and I'd probably even be MORE tired...but I really want to go to bed..." = recipe for disaster

Good. I honestly don't know how much an agent can get away with, so you can comment on that.

There are times that UA will violate it's own rules in reroutes so that wouldn't be an option and I'd hate to see your mom get hit with a debit memo.

I have very little experience with FTer-style itineraries on the booking side. Usually what an agency can get away with is predicated on how well they deal with the phone reps that service the industry-side desks. Usually when something goes wrong, the desks that take care of agents are just as much of a crapshoot as the Elite line or the General Member line. I've called an industry desk for simple stuff and gotten the kind of stupidity on the other end of the phone that people complain about in the main forum. I had an Executive Accounts desk agent argue the meaning of "12-hour window" when I wanted to SDC myself once.

I'm not sure that UA violating its own rules would not be an option for an agent. If UA makes the choice to violate its own rules and it happens to be on an agent-issued ticket, and said action results in a debit memo, I would fight that debit memo to the death. ARC has no right to cut the debit memo to the agent when the airline breaks its own guidance without input from the agent. I'd be willing to bet there are corporate agents based in a UA hub who don't have that kind of command of UA's rules.

Cool on the Eagle Scout!!

I am not looking forward to the drive from SWO to BNA. From the looks of it I will be following the storm you speak of. I have decided to divide the trip into 2-5 hour days to begin with and with the weather it looks like it was a good decision. I just hope that the weather has come and gone by Sunday as I head to NYC!!

On another note, I am 90% packed and have lost my money/CC clip in all this mess. It wouldnt be too bad if I wasn't putting 90% in storage!!! UGH!!!!

I still think OpenFlights' map stinks... It needs a UI and overall aesthetic overhaul.

Speaking of aesthetic overhaul, has anyone seen the new Great Circle Mapper?

I like the ability to zoom and move around on the OF map. I wish FM had that functionality.
