I called the elite line to try to change the IAH-DFW flight, but no-go.

It can be done; but that's tight.

The web site explains what it is, but of course does not convey the claustrophobic nature of the rooms. When I lived in Boston and traveled to New York in a previous life, my company had a membership and we were required to stay there on all company business. Let's just say that if I was in bed, I didn't need a remote to change the channel, I could do it with my foot.

Thank you, good Wizard. The CY and Marquis properties are in the same price range, with the cheapest being the Ren on AAA rate.

I've stayed at all three and really liked the Ren.

It doesn't get any easier as they get older, either. On the rare occasions that we fly as a family, we travel with laptop, portable DVD player, coloring books, regular books, and stuffed animals (takes up two carryons and a laptop bag).

ETA there is also the game we play called "find an inappropriate gift for Mommy in the SkyMall catalog." That is usually good for about 20 minutes.

We also play "where would you like to go"? with the back map of the CO mag.

Don't worry, we'll return to our normally scheduled

It's okay to still play this game when you're older, right? :D

Of course, the most horrific part of the whole thing was that for a year and a half my only travel was BOS-NYP on Amtrak twice a month.:rolleyes:

It gets better when they are older and can pack themselves; of course, that can be quite interesting!

I've just been informed by Mr. Big Shot that he is ready for his training now. Later Box.

Here's the abridged proposal story, to help restore equilibrium.

So through a little bamboozlement, and a trip on C:rolleyes:C:mad: I brought teh Canuck to the spot we met 6 years prior. I began telling her how incredible the past six years had been and what a journey we had been on, and how I was excited to see what the next chapter would bring us.

I tried really hard to get her to affirm what I was saying, or to elicit that "L" word.

In the middle of my schmaltzy ramblings she looked up at me, gazed deeply into my eyes, and said "I have to poop."

^

That will be a good story to tell the grandkids :D
