Five flights down, one to go on my two day random mileage run on four different airlines... And I'm dead tired. I don't even want to think about that DL flight the BF and I have out of ATL at 6:20 AM tomorrow morning.

And to think I'm going to do another trip like this again in just over a month, all on DL.

I won't even bother describing the Saga of 12/29's UA Flight 863 SFO-SYD. I'll just say 22 Hour Delay, F pax & UGS led off the aircraft, then abandoned with no point of contact in the International Terminal Lobby (around 1am) for 45 minutes. I'm sure you can use your imagination and fill in the details.

I think the Significant Otter and I were the only happy people in that small group, as there wasn't much that could rain on our parade that evening :D.

We got an extra day to explore SFO (with great weather, no less), and finally made it out on what was re-tagged as UA 863D, with a 22-hour delay last night (12/30). UA F suite may not be state of the art, but I got a solid 10-hours sleep over the Pacific, which was definitely ^

Please describe the fiasco - I love hearing tales about UA operational debacles.

It seems like the LAX-SYD and SFO-SYD flights have major delays or cancelations at least once per week. Where did UA put you up?

By the way, what did they do with the non-F and GS passengers?

Mine was me, my S/O, and my two younger brothers sitting at ORD for 6 hours yesterday as we waited on an inbound aircraft. We arrived at the airport early with a nice sky outside, my S/O and I sitting in the PC (empty), and my two brothers roaming the terminal. Our flight was initially delayed for 20 minutes but after the dumping of snow it went up to an hour. Eventually our 4:54pm scheduled flight took off ~6:30pm.

The flight had 18 kids under the age of three (by our count) and all of them were tired and cranky.

However, the gate crew was fantastic and handled the situation very well. My brothers ended up with a middle seat empty between them in the exit row (14) and my S/O got a battlefield along with a pilot heading to work.
