When I look at my new name, I'll remember giving Mary a little "personal space"... :D

You got hosed... They put spaces between all the words, not just the one space :p

That'll teach him. No good deed goes unpunished :p

Ahhh... thank you. I like all those spaces.

Back as you were guys :) :p

I've tried to make a transition to booking Q-UPs on DL/UA, which generally offer the best routing possibilities and cpm value. I know most will stick to 3cpm as if it is some sort of magic number, but I'm willing to go as high as 5 (and can usually find them around 4 or less) if it's confirmed F, with all its appurtenant mileage bonuses. The way I look at it, I'm still buying F for a cheaper cpm figure than what most non FTers pay for coach.

My next UA Q-UP will be as a 55k+ BD Gold, which means all my flown EQMs convert to RDMs for the rest of my Gold year (until September, for me). That halves my cpm figure on all UA Q-UPs purchased between now and September. Earning 625% RDMs on a flight should be pretty fun :D.

I signed up for BD's FF program so I need to learn the lingo... RDMs and Q-UPs, it's intriguing.

I think you can start enjoying immediate benefits a a BD Blue member.
My favorite is a 20 % discount at the Pink Elephant Parking Lot at LHR
maybe CO will introduce that as well when they start flights there
:D

LOL...I was trying to translate into CO/DL-speak. RDMs are redeemable miles (the ones we bank), which BD folk refer to as Destination Miles. They call EQM's Status Miles. Q-UPs are a DL/UA phenomenon, and are roughly equivalent to R fares on CO (discounted, paid F).

Milk the golden cow whilst it is around. The prophets of doom on the BD forum give Diamond Club about two years before absorption by the Luftwaffe's Miles & Less. I'm about to call over to the BD Diamond Club Call Centre (India, unfortunately), to try to score some F reward tix on LH to meet up with my OSL-SVO-HKG flight in may. ANA Tool is showing availability, so we shall see.

Gotcha. Makes a little more sense now.

I will be milking the cow, I just have to make sure that I at least attain Gold on CO while spreading out my travel to *A carriers.

If I am on domestic UA flights they'll take my BD # or should I use the UA number?

CanYouJustPutMe WithMyLuggagePlease Jan 8, 2008 8:07 am

Originally I requested all of these spaces, but then I did some checking to see just how many characters were allowed in a new member set up and the input box only allowed me to add one more character... so I re-requested with just one space thinking that was all I would get... ask and you shall receive...

Is this the end of name gate? sure... so long as Mary is happy... and she seems to be :D

And if I can get some opinions on whether the Qantas FC reward tickets are worth the cost or not... I would like to take my son over his holiday break next year... I did a 60k economy air micronesia in `04... the stop over in Hawaii for a few days made the flight there more than bearable, but the return flight was complete hell... the old mileage charts made it a no brainer to try for the tickets, the new charts not so much...

Mary2e Jan 8, 2008 8:14 am

Wait a minute.... it's still messing up my flyertalk, and now it's worse because of the more spaces. The username space now takes up the bulk of the real estate on the page.

I didn't know they had a character limit. IMHO, it's too many of them :D

Thank you for trying though.

That reminds me of one of my favorite Simposons' gags, involving the coalition for a gay Republican President.

In other parking news, I parked in some annex lot at EWR over the Christmas lot - "P7". This thing was far. So far it doesn't even show-up on the PANYNJ EWR parking website. I think they wrestled the space away from some bums back in Nov.

I knew I was in trouble when I was met by sherpa when I parked my car. Getting to the terminal took 7 "feats of stregnth". Not only am I now good friends with a cleft-footed pigeon (if you see him, he responds to "Satch") I met somewhere midway to the terminal (I think I was in Delaware at that point), I'm also apparently employed at the Anheiser Busch brewery, and a member of the EWR fire-squad.

I wasn't worried about missing my flight though. TripAlert was having one of its turettes days, giving me updates every .42 seconds letting me know my flight was, in fact, still delayed.

Is LH running a 744 IAH-FRA now?

The old charts were a steal , just took my second QF reward trip thanks to CO , i arrived in SYD well rested , checked in to my hotel and was surfing in manly beach by 2 pm .
I don't know which class you are looking for QF reward tickets in , but this is my logic, CO EWR-EZE in BF is 180k in sleazypass, I travel to EZE 3 times a year and have no problem doing the flights in Y , QF JFK-SYD is now 190k and still not a bad deal considering flight times , stop in LAX and time zone changes .

No, it's a 346 still but in the near future (late March, early April) it will be moving to a 744.
