Glad you made it up here. The weather had been quite interesting. Did The City get the lightning show and hail about an hour ago? My lawn looked like it was covered in snow.

No worries about today. Perhaps on Friday.

Was still inside the restaurant, but could hear the rain and some some thunder. I don't think there was any hail, but it can be a very localized phenomenon.

Depending on how work goes for me on Friday I may try to catch an earlier flight, I'll keep you posted.

CO just offered me a $1,248 OW to IAH (and that connects through EWR). All other major airlines are offering sub-$200.

For some stupid reason I thought it said the 20th. Silly me. That may explain why the word Mastercard seems to stand out on the reciept. Has it always been in caps like that?

I just got of the phone learning something new from a friend that's there. He thinks it's more like 2 to 3 months minimum based on the meetings they had today. Net diffence between if it was just 2 weeks and unemployment would have been 3 weeks of unemployment. I'm going to go for it. I can always go something else at the same time part time and still look for something full time in the mean time.

Congrats, and I think a good decision. You never know where even a part time gig can lead, once you are on the inside of an organization.

Too bad you didn't win the use of the Wienermobile for your wedding. That would have been perfect.

That mini-wiener is too cute for words. Can you steal it for the day?

Yeah, it went to some kid's event or something. :)

Anyone know how to hotwire a Mini Cooper? :D

Good night, Box.

(my daughter's been on a Goodnight, Moon kick lately before bed. We need a Box version.)

Can I make a motion that my snowy  photo wearing a horned Polska hat be considered for my calendar entry? That photo holds sentimental value for me. :-:

Wouldn't that be the Christopher Walken version from the Simpsons?

I think the fashion coordinator has something else in store for you.

Before "we" decide, let's hear why. :)

I know. I'm concerned about being accused of bringing disrepute upon the profession and being denied membership in the bar. :-: :D

And I still have never had a Whataburger. Maybe in a few weeks - I'll have to really behave on the diet / exercise routine to fit that in with drinking.

Trustguy Jan 20, 2010 9:52 pm

Okay, I am back. The last few days have produced a lot of drama. Everything came to a head when Trustguy's dad passed away yesterday at age 81. Today we made the funeral decisions and I am feeling a bit better.

Just to indulge myself, my father first encouraged me to seek status on AA, he himself was a lifetime AA Platinum, and he had set foot on every continent (yes, it is true). As an unexperienced Kettle, dad let me know about the upgrade possibilities with my status, etc. He had some close calls within the last few months -- we had a trip during one of his hospitalizations and his only comment was -- "upgrade?"!

Today during our lunch after the funeral planning, my brother indulged us with a story on how, when brother was in college, dad routed him on flights from DEN-ABQ-PSP-BUR, because they were cheaper than DEN-BUR. This was in the early 1980's -- my dad rocked!

I later discovered FT, and I almost caught up with dad. In looking through his records, he has an Expert Flyer membership. He always seemed to know when I was upgraded. :)

Thanks for indulging me... :-:

Where's the Mini Weiner located? Still in Madison?

Thank god I never read my kids that book. I made the mistake of reading them the Foot Book from Dr. Seuss. Left foot, left foot, right foot right. Feet in the morning, feet at night.....(it's been 14 years since I last read it)

Because it's the first EuroBeer DO photo that exists of me where I don't look like a total, complete, irredeemable numpty. Now, the Karaoke photo does have its place (such as inspiring Box Denizens to Swedish video-editing strokes of genius), but  conquers all. :-:
