Not so much AA, but OneWorld in general.

I said it before if JL goes to SkyTeam, it will be the end of OneWorld. It would not surprise me is JL flirting with DL is just to get a better deal out of AA. To that end I think those rumors were started by JL.

Where does AA go at that point? BK?

I don't particularly mind the exit row seats on the MD-88, other than the fact that the noise of the auxilliary hydraulic pump under those seats is deafening during taxi and takeoff.

The MD-90 is pretty awful when it comes to passenger comfort as well.

I have a feeling they may lose this battle but not the fight.

I can't imagine how JL/DL will pass anti-trust, with DL already owning a sizable number of slots at NRT, a combination with JL will dwarf everything and DL will find itself in the same position with JL as AA has with BA.

Or DL could be trying to get AA to overspend as a way of weakening it.

I'm still convinced that will be the end result.

I pray JAL does not enter into an unholy union with the Wing of Satan (delta air lines), as doing so shall surely hasten the company's demise.

AA could just say forget it, and let DL take on all that debt, and headache of anti trust.

then AA could work on luring another carrier over, whom? i don't know. Garuda? :D

If I was running DL, I would focus on absorbing NW. I would consolidate and focus on getting to profitability.

Or hope / help CX expands to cover the region? JL could really be quite strategic to both.
