I flew Etihad JFK-SYD last January in pearl business. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Loved the fact i got a free limo ride from central Jersey to JFK, and then from SYD airport to Circular Quay. Ditto on return. On second leg (Abu Dhabi to Melbourne) I was op-upped to Diamond First Class. OMG!!!!! Fantastic.

I have heard nothing but great things about them!

Alaska for the solstice was fun this past year. Nothing like being in a beer garden after midnight and its still light out.

Had lunch up there with a good group of the ANC FTers as well...fun times. I might go back up to ANC for solstice again next year.

AK should have definitely already been done. I'm upset with myself waiting for that to be 46th on my list.

Noooo...this is a business trip so the company's paying for it. I was just thinking out loud while typing that I should start burning Hilton points one of these days. I'd never use them for a stay like that....better saved for a pricey property on a vacation! :-:

Sorry....Venice, FL

When you said "stay by SRQ" I figured that meant off of US-41 by the airport and the art museum. Now that I look at it, the Fairfield Inn is in Lakewood Ranch by I-75, which cuts about 10-15 mins off of my driving estimate (according to Google). There are a number of places to eat out there -- though I don't know much about them because we are generally just driving through there on the way from TPA to the beach.

I still think you're better off staying in Venice, but then again I am less loyal with my hotel stays than you are.

So far this year, I've got 88 Marriott nights and (I think) 4 Hilton nights. Since I'm already Platinum with Marriott next year, I guess one night in a Hampton won't kill me. As far as staying closer to where I'm working, even though it's a little closer, I think since I have to be there bright and early on Friday, the lack of a rush-hour "commute" will be nice.

Thanks again for the restaurant suggestions.

I still can't believe no one in the area has it right now. Friday when I was in my car there were constant commercials for it.

I'm honestly a little surprised there's no place in Central Jersey that has it yet.
