"Firm" meaning "corporate america" or "professional america" (i.e. accountants, lawyers, etc.)? Reason I ask is that I don't think that a law firm has any good sense of economics IMHO.

On the litigation side of things, I think a part of it is just that lawsuits are downright expensive, even in the discovery phase. There are plenty of expert witnesses out there that charge $500-$1,000/hr (if not more) for their time, and often more than one will be necessary in a complex products liability/medical device/drugs suit.

It's not like Plaintiffs' attorneys are spendthrifts, either. In most cases, if they don't win, they don't get a fee (or reimbursement for costs).

Gotta go board Aero Canuck Lite. Have fun, Box.

The only problem with it I suppose is the "UA" portion of the UA 1K equation.;):D Truth be told I actually like some of UA. Just some parts of it can be rough (i.e. IAD GAs, ops falling apart at ORD, the ICC).

1P and above does not have to deal with the ICC. The ICC can actually work to your advantage, in fact.

Gotcha, won't disagree. More that the management of the modern law firm seems chaotic to me in a way that the "traditional corporation" is not. Good stuff nonetheless.:-:

That's a proviso - I spoke about situations where strategy and structure are poor matches (due to one or the other) and situations where strategy and structure are both well aligned but culture gets into the way.

Darn - I have to do a site visit in Louisiana. Each way is either a 12-hour drive or 2 CRJs. Think I might have to subsidize my next automobile with this trip ...

Every once in and a while, you would get routed as a 1P to the ICC. I did once and was told, and I quote, "There are no UA operated flights to/from CLT. You must fly US Air.:" I called again of course, but geesh .....

I can host for you if youd like.

With some airlines, "Is Possible" to have ARUNK (arrival unknown) or such added to the PNR during IRROPS. I'm sure our friend sfogate can give all the low-down.

For irrops, we are to leave the original booking alone, add in ARUNK at the end of your PNR and then book the protection. This is for delayed flights only.

For canceled flights, the agent is to substitute the new flight for the canceled one.

I got it, too, for the Lincoln 13. I also need to juggle my schedule but I definitely have a +1 available. My wife has no desire to see it at all.

I would love to see it -- but given my current 'babysitting' stint -- don't think I can make it work!:(

Is it odd that I always travel with whatever vouchers I have on hand at the time? Never know when a good fare is going to pop up... :)

NO. ^

I store the codes in my pda and computer just for that reason.

Do you know if the same idea applies to UA? My 40 minute connection in DEN has me strongly considering asking to be protected on a later set of flights back home.

OMG!!!

Since returning from the StarMegaDO, work has been so slow. Being paid to sit in an office all day is not fun!! Even with the internet there is not enough to do most days. I dread to say it but I think this will continue except for four days in Decemeber. UGH. I am thinking of finding a cheap destination to fly to next weekend just to mix things up a bit!!

40min in DEN is no problem.
