Depends are the charge. If you're at the police station whatever is going to happen is going to happen. I don't provide legal advice, but he is probably best served by keeping silent and await legal counsel.

Good luck. As my mom always said, boys will be boys and trust me I got in my fair share of trouble growing up. Luckily nothing a little money and an attorney to keep it off my record.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts & concerns -- it's not great, but at least he was released to our custody & we will get good legal counsel. The police were 'processing' him for hours -- so, we couldn't see or talk to him. Then when they took me back to explain the 'charges' (ex was on his way from NYC) -- I just broke down & cried -- what I was being told was shocking & I wasn't born yesterday! :o Amazing how intrepid these kids are these days -- thanks to technology & the internet! The waiting part is as much punishment for the parents, as it is for the kid!

Also, I count my blessings -- there was a fatal DUI accident a few wks ago here -- involving a 19y.o. whose GF was driving drunk & ran into a tree head-on -- the BF died instantly -- she is fine.

I am fine -- shaken up and soooo sad & disappointed in my son. He's only 15 -- but has gotten himself into an 'adult' sized problem!

Am enjoying some red wine now. Luckily I have a great business partner to talk to, & an awesome beau -- who sent me a wonderful e-mail to help me get grounded & calm myself!

Thanks sfogate -- you're a great friend!^

You might find this video useful ... but since your son was at the police station for a while it might be good advice a little late.

You and me both. Atleast now I know it's not me and my lack of computer skills or issues with my computer.

Don't be too hard on him, after all, he is, as you say, only 15. And maybe it's an "adult" size problem, but probably not, in the end.

In any case, as HeathrowGuy suggests above, the matter should probably now be private, at least until resolved.

What would you guys value 20k UA miles at? In the process of trying to trade an FFN for a $200 UA voucher or 20k UA miles (hoping for a reduced domestic award to show up). I think it is reasonable but am curious as to what yall think.

monitor Nov 20, 2009 9:33 pm

I would say a FFN is worth more than $200. There are some Hyatts that I like in Metro DC and during the week $200 will not get you in the door.

I was thinking the same paired with "I could earn a FFN and many Hyatt points for well less than $200". If you think the miles are worthwhile and the trade partner thinks the deal is fine, nothing else matters.

Just dropping in before I put the lights out - sorry to hear mnmag. I did some goofy stuff growing up but a cop lived across the street for me...therefore nothing ever stuck. ;)

Did another Longhorn secret shop - for those not in on that, you really should.

Night, Box.

I do shops on a very infrequent basis now - the company I can select through sometimes has gas stations during my travels ...

Can't seem to connect to pb2. :(

Goodnight, box.

Interesting! I guess this is one of the things we need to educate our kids about!

It's so trying being a parent -- sometimes! Now I understand why all the gray hairs started up once my kids hit their teen yrs!
