I had comcast in miami, I found it very ironic about their 'no signal loss in storms' ads they always ran, and yet they were down WAY MORE than my dish network is (or parents directv) even with storms regular around here.

A storm basically adds some pixelation to the screen for a few seconds, it has to be a tornado and hail generating storm to make it start searching for sats, and i can think of a lot better things to be doing than wathcing TV in such cases!

We have DirectTV and love it. We rarely have outages. The only time we have problems is when there is a torrential downpour of rain. We have lots of very mature trees around us too, and it doesn't seem to interfere.

I'd never go back to cable. In any case, in our town, our hands are tied - we can only get cablevision because the town council entered into an agreement with them and so we are screwed if we want anyone else.

ooooooh, bad luck. Not pretty. Bummer. 3 free nights in St. Lucia would have been very nice. Sorry

Oh, before I forget: for those who want to do an overwater bungalow and don't necessarily want to go TPAC to do so, they are coming to St. Lucia. Sandals is building them.

Drool!

I was just looking at pictures of the overwater bungalows in Bora Bora on the spg website and almost vomited when i saw it was 70,000 spg points per night

Morning Box,

Was feeling a bit randy and had to get my aeroporn fix this morning, so I drove by the GA ramps at PIT to look at all the big planes. I wonder if there's a phallic thing going on with some of these countries, when one leader steps out of his 747 and laughs at the Tupolev next to it.

AF 1 wasn't visible, they probably have it squirreled away somewhere, but Japan and India had 747s that dwarfed the little thing from France. In fact, it looks like the PM of Japan crusies around with 2 747s as there were two identical planes. At least, I think it's Japan as they had big red circles on the tails, or maybe I am confusing them with the old zeros.

That same guy in the Air Force who I talked about that refused to use portajohns was also the same guy who was known to, on occasion, drive to and from the base on drill weekends wearing his Kevlar helmet and gas mask, just to freak out other drivers.
