Hadn't considered the NH angle. IIRC, you can also transfer Amex MR Points to NH. :-:

Totally agree. I say it should be done after PRG. The biggest issue, IMO, is space. We could open it to the forum or keep it in The Box, and follow the same format that the fundraiser does. We charge $10/person, and we could either charge to defray costs or charge to create a cash prize.

And yes, the new Tonight Show is horribly unfunny. Conan was always unfunny, now a wider audience has figured that out. Giving Jay 10pm is nice, but he does not have the same vibe as he did at 1130.

Got the upgrade at 2 days out for my flight home this weekend. Got the companion upgrade at the gate. Finished both bottles of red wine (there was some help from others on the plane) among other things. Hard to believe that the 5pm EWR-JAX flight rates a meal, but we got a pretty miserable chicken burrito in addition to the booze. Not too shabby.

Welcome aboard, an' on behalf o' me more than 40,000 co-workers, thanks fer flyin' Continental Airlines today. We appreciate yer business, an' we know that ye think about many factors when ye decide what t' buy. Fer many swabbies, one o' them factors be th' company`s commitment t' environmental responsibility, an' that be th' focus o' this moon`s issue o' Continental magazine.
In this issue, in addition t' findin' numerous stories about environmentally friendly products an' new green ideas, ye`ll find an excerpt from Continental`s Global Citizenship Report. This report outlines th' many things we do at Continental t' mitigate our impact on th' environment an' t' be a good community partner, an' 'tis available online at continental.com under "About Continental." In this moon`s Continental Insider column, ye can also read about our carbon-offsettin' program, offered through Sustainable Set sail International. As an airline, th' single largest impact we can be havin' on our environmental footprint at Continental be by flyin' a new, fuel-efficient jet fleet. I be proud t' say that, thanks t' continuous investments in modern an' efficient Boein' aircraft, Continental has th' most fuel-efficient fleet o' all th' major U.S. network carriers. In fact, in 2008, we be more than 35 percent more fuel-efficient per revenue passenger mile flown than we be in 1997. In addition, we be havin' added fuel-efficient engines, winglets, an' other technology t' many o' our aircraft. Goin' fore, we will continue t' invest in new technology t' keep our planes green an' our skies clist. Earlier this voyage, we became th' first commercial carrier in North America t' perform a biofuel demonstration flight. That flight, which be conducted in partnership wi' Boein', GE Aviation/CFM International, an' Honeywell`s UOP, used a biofuel blend that included components derived from algae an' jatropha plants, both sustainable, second-generation sources. Th' demonstration flight be also th' first by a commercial carrier usin' algae, an' th' first usin' a two-engine aircraft. Compared wi' traditional jet fuel, th' biofuel blend displayed a 1.1 percent increase in fuel efficiency. Most important, th' overall life cycle greenhouse gas emissions related t' th' biofuel used be estimated t' be reduced by 60 percent t' 80 percent compared wi' traditional jet fuel. We be very encouraged by these results an' we look fore t' th' tide that these types o' fuels become certified an' available fer commercial use. Another part o' bein' a good global citizen be reachin' ou' t' help strengthen th' community. Many o' me co-workers do an amazin' job at this, includin' Newark-based First Officer CJ Charlton, who runs an aviation camp fer children. Ye can read more about th' lad's here. On behalf o' First Officer Charlton an' th' entire Continental team, thank ye fer flyin' wi' us today. I hope ye enjoy this special "green issue."

Talk like a Pirate Day ends on a sad note for me. Had to run out and shop for dark dress clothes tonight; friend and ex-boss of mine from the old USAF office died of cancer earlier this week, and no one reached out to tell me until tonight. He was all of 52. :(

Oh man. Only 52 years is not enough time. Sorry to hear that.
Sorry to hear that, CM. 52 is very young, especially as I'll be there in 2 years, so it really brings it home when you hear of someone passing at that age |
