That's a very new Springhill Suites, and built to the newer design. I've heard it's nice.

And of course you can still earn points there. It may not be your preferred program, but Marriott Rewards is out there, and points in a non-preferred program always trumps no points at all in my book.

Aye, the newer design Springhill Suites properties are very nice. One of my favorites is in Glendale, AZ.

That is an excellent price for a ^ location.

I will be in Chicago for my bday this year. :D

Trying something new for dinner tonight – well, a new preparation, anyway. I was at Whole Foods earlier buying salmon to grill tonight and saw they had wood grilling planks, so I picked up a couple. Going to do cedar plank grilled salmon tonight, with broccoli. We'll see how it turns out. Plank is soaking in water now.

Cedar is one smoking agent I really dislike. It is too strong, much stronger than mesquite IMO.

I thought that they changed it so only originating pax get it at FRA, not connections.

I think the rule is that originating FRA F passengers can use the FCT, while connecting passengers must use the new F lounge in the regular LH terminal. The new F lounge, however, is just as nice as the FCT and you still get a ride to the aircraft in a Porsche Cayenne or Mercedes.

Hey, this CO person sent you a Birthday wish. :D

It was God that p*ssed on your birthday, not us. :D

I just learned that the hard way! But we're OK. Wood is a little burned, salmon is still good.

Old true story: a concierge in Chicago was approached by a guest and was told that the guest required a bag of eyeballs. The guest was speaking at an ophthalmology conference and wanted to put a handful of eyes in glass bowls at each table in the room. Conference was happening the next day. The concierge struggled and struggled before realizing that the Chicago stockyards would be the perfect answer, as the guest never specified that the eyes be human or glass or fake or whatever. The stockyard had no need for the eyes, so the hotel sent someone to get them.

That's just gross.

I've bought ping pong balls and painted the black dot on them when I've need eyes for Halloween decorations. Keeps the gag factor to a minimum.

Although one Halloween day, I was meeting a flight from IAH and the Captain gave me a box and said here are the eyes. I replied with a Happy Halloween to you too and he said he wasn't joking. He actually had a cooler full of human eyes for the Human Eye Organ Bank.

Corner Chinese restaurant or butcher shop. @:-) :D

After a day of teaching people how to teach, I came home and napped for two hours. That's common for days when I teach more than three hours (I use a lot of energy keeping everyone engaged) ...

Guinness, salad, crab cakes, and a leftover piece of salmon for dinner.

They don't understand the concept of points; all they understand is cheap. And besides, wouldn't I have to book the res in my name and list her parents as guests?

Can you find a non-DB dealer who'll take 10k so you can "negotiate" with the desired dealer?

True, but I would also caution the "customers" to "quit being morons".

I think we agree people are plenty stupid ...

There's a whole thread contemplating the auctions - and I doubt any buyer would leave Revenue Protection positive feedback. ;) Even SPG has ebay police.
