Yep, there's a bar in the CO gate area, at the top of the escalators, between the two gates. It's not much of a bar, but they do serve alcohol. And it's literally about 25 feet from the entrance to one jetway, and maybe 40 feet from the other.

Just saw a photo of Tom Cruise in a Miami Vice suit - it so did not work on him.

Whew. I'll need that to get over my RJitis.

That's great news!

LOL. It's a very short flight, especially on the way up there. And you can always redeem a CO currency coupon in flight.

The other nice thing about DAL is that the flights are very frequent, and refundable, no change penalty fares are often very reasonable on IAH-DAL. So if there's any chance you might wrap up early and want to head home earlier, having one of those fares makes it quite easy to do, with no penalty. When I was still living in Houston, and had a Dallas client, that's usually the route I went. Although, more often than not, I chose to stay an extra night and hang out with friends after work on Thursday evening rather than fly home. But either way, I found DAL more flexible with more frequent flights and more competitive fully changeable fares.

Just keep in mind that the facilities at DAL are basic, and showing their age. Don't be too shocked when you get off the plane and feel like you've stepped back in time, although it is better than it used to be.

I have to agree that it is an easy in and out terminal/airport.

Need to take an edge off for the 45 minute flight?

Sounds like you measure the bars from the gate door like some measure the pitch of seats on the plane! :D

On the way up, Diet Coke only; the way back, I can let loose a bit more. I know it's a short flight, but it still is an RJ!!!!

I'm someone who goes out of my way to book the horrible mainline times IAH-OMA-IAH to avoid an RJ for 2+ hours. Anytime in an RJ is too long for me

Be careful with that post count goal ... you know what happens to off-topic posts and irrelevant threads, don't you?! :p

Not looking forward to work tonight. It's not a weather thing but a co-worker thing.

I got called out and then called a PTLA (part time lazy ...) because I didn't rush up to help finish boarding a delayed flight last night with only 60+ people on board. There was already three agents working the flight.

Hey, just point him/her at me next time, we'll beat him/her up! :D

Seriously now, if there is ever any doubt as to how a great asset you are to CO, have them ask around here!

I could tell many stories . . . . One guy who used to cut my hair used to keep a double Makers sidecar on the shelf near the hairdrier and sip throughout the haircut. I usually would tip him by buying him Makers sidecars at the bar next to the salon. My current stylist at my man spa in DC talks nonstop about her dating life, but she doesn't drink while working and never is late for appointments.

Cool, I have a posse now. As far as they were concerned I was just an ... last night. Thanks for the compliment.
