A meatless option on CO? Only if you take the meat off.

I absolutely change mine (or at least confirm that it is on the right selection) every time I'm going to a new hotel. It credits based on what is selected when you check in, so no cheating and changing after you've arrived.

Yes, you can change it. What counts is what it's set to at midnight on the day you check out, not what it's set to at check in or when you make the reservation.

I personally leave it set to points + fixed miles for all stays, but that's only because I do BD miles, which are the best deal out there. 1,000 miles per night (not per stay), up to three nights per stay, regardless of brand. So a three night Hampton stay yields the same number of BD miles as a three night stay at a Conrad or Waldorf hotel. Not bad. Back before I was collecting massive amounts of BD miles from Hilton stays, I'd do the points + points option for most stays, as the 50% bonus on Hilton points was worth far more to me than a paltry 100 or 500 miles per stay. Another decent Double Dip option if you fly WN is WN credits, which accrue at 0.5 credit per stay. It's an easy way for an infrequent WN flier to top off an account and get to a free ticket.

Does it? I've always been under the impression that the Double Dip was based on what it was when you checked out. I've changed it plenty of times mid-stay and had it post correctly, based on what it was set to at check out, not check in.

Now the MyWay VIP preferences are totally set at check in.

Rooms and beds are nice however.

I received an offer to fast-track to Diamond at Hilton with 8 stays between now and the end of May. I think I can do it. But do I want to and sacrifice SPG stays? Actually, now that I think about it, maybe I get Diamond at Hilton and then comp over to Plat at SPG. Winner winner, I've got a plan.

Actually, at Hilton family properties the fixed or variable mileage you earn is based on what is set on your account at midnight the day you check out.

Sonic has the best drinks. Love that slushy ice, and their limeades are the best on a hot summer day. Sadly, like Whataburger, I don't think there's one near me.

ssullivan How long does it take for BD points earned from a Hilton Stay ?

Just curious - the rationale? She never flew first class before she worked for me (heck, she hadn't even travelled that much, fwiw). I have a business associate that flies two of them (he and his wife) in first while their underling (my verbiage) flies coach. He also puts the "underling" at a lower hotel while they are enjoying the 5* life.

Maybe 7-10 days? I check my BD account so infrequently that I really don't know. But every time I check it against my Hilton stays that are more than about 7-14 days in the past, the miles are there.

Or maybe they have jobs. ;)

Hmmm...I got screwed at least once then. Not by enough to care, but good to know what the current setup is. I haven't credited a stay to HH in about a year, I'd guess.

SPG fans, which hotel in NYC would you recommend for a long weekend stay? I'm seriously considering taking advantage of their buy two nights, get a third free offer for our trip there in April, rather than redeeming points.
