going anti-box, I just gave fives guys my 3rd and final try yesterday, it wasn't good even with very toasted bun, the bun just does it in, but last night what really did it in.....was the soap flavor on my jalapenos!

I did a takeout and was 10 miles away before I tasted it :( I would have taken this thing back but it ruined the entire burger, it made my mouth dry and well. soapy!

I agree, it is not as amazing a people say it is. I wouldn't go out of my way for a 5 guys burger.

The franchise up in NY isn't that spectacular either. If you ever find yourself in NoVa/DC make a stop. It's completely different.

(I've also run into a few good ones in SoFL.)

Had lunch the other day at a new 5 Guys on Gallows Road in Merrifield, VA. It was my second bout with them (the first was at DCA) and I continue to be very unimpressed.

Where are they in South Florida? OK. I just googled. Boynton Beach, Wellington, and Fort Lauderdale. I will not hurry over to any one of them.

Midtown Miami also, that one is very uninspiring! It is the one I have tried 3 times, the peanuts are good however!

Not sure which area of SoFla you are in, but that is right off 36th and N Miami Ave.

IN that massive boondoggle of mis-development that used to be the railyard.

Yes, in some scenarios. I think it can tell if all the cities on your route support it and only then will the option be available. But coming home from the Do I had IAH-AUS-EWR and was able to use the electronic BP for both flights.

I've got two of those so far that I know of, and they're consecutive. #15 was coming home from a school trip to MCO, and #16 was coming home from a Southern Caribbean cruise. Got upgraded solely because it was my birthday, AA SJU-EWR.

I'll have to see if I can use the birthday to move up the upgrade list this year ... I make a conscious effort to use annual leave for my birthday each year.

I think the years of the birthday/honeymoon/personal event upgrades are long dead.

I'm thinking that if this European honeymoon ends up happening that I'll try to mileage-upgrade us on the overnight flight over, and stay in the back for the flight home. The cruise leaves from BCN, and the itinerary is Monte Carlo and Italy. We want to do a day or two pre-cruise somewhere, and I'm thinking that MAD is the best choice.

MAD^ My wife and I upgraded going to Europe. We felt that we should have upgraded coming back. We felt like crap when we got home. We were already jet-lagged going over. At least on the way back, we felt like we could sleep a lot better if we were in J.

I do as well - that's why I was settling for merely advancing me on the upgrade list.

On the honeymoon and mileage upgrades - is either TATL flight on a 767? I'm thinking like the poster above (but the two seat sides on a 767 might be a compromise).

Do not even think about it. Unless you have spent time there, Barcelona is a wonderful two or three day stop. Madrid is mostly just another big city, albeit with some wonderful and impressive historical structures and the Prado. But in Barcelona, you will find new wonders every time you turn a corner.
