Madre de Copa strikes again. She typed up the copy she wants on the front page of her company newsletter for her 25th anniversary. Nothing important, that bit about having kept a small business open 25 years. Nah. I get a call about 20 minutes ago that she needs to take the copy to the printer in 10 minutes. And could I please go through it? In the first line I find a reference to Ronald Regan. (To be fair, she was typing this last night during what she calls "sleepy time", the 45 minutes of reduced consciousness before her Ambien kicks in.)

Me: "And who is Ronald Regan?"

Her: "Spell check didn't catch it."

Me: "Do you think the spell checker knows history?"

Her: <deafening silence of a pause>

Me: :rolleyes:

The only way to deal with trolls is to pay no attention to them.

That would probably be Donald Regan, the Secretary of the Treasury until 1985, appointed because the name confusion was so cute even then.

Haha. I said that name to myself when I was thinking of famous Regans to throw back at her (also Judith and Brian came to mind) but nope...the copy said "...and Ronald Regan was just starting his second term." A little bit of basic tooling around on the IN-TER-NET would have fixed that.

Please forgive this newcomer to "The Box," but I notice that the link in the quoted post (and I think I've made a valid association of handle to box-referenced 'term of endearment') does something odd: I get a message, "No thread specified - if you followed a valid link, please contact the Administrator!") I would do just that but I'm very shy wrt Moderators and Administrators! :o
