Doesn't Hilton have a diamond availability guarantee like Marriott does? I used it this past weekend of COFreqFlyer and it was grand.

Rack rate at that property could easily be a Grand.

I got the AAA rate when I booked a plat availability guarantee last week. Of course, it may vary from property to property.

Who knows/can make sense of their program.

The trick is, is that I'm supposed to be staying at a Wyndham in the area for a work function. If I can find a hotel at or below the cost of the Wyndham I can dodge that . The Hilton, which is like a block and a half from the Wyndham in question was the exact same rate until today.

If I call Hilton and do a Diamond Force chances are I'll be paying rack, which will most likely have me sleeping in the parking garage for $1,000/night.

Area SPG properties are about twice as expensive as the Wyndham.:rolleyes:

Yes, they do have it. It's pretty clearly listed in the Diamond benefits. And like other such forces, it's generally going to be rack rate.

That place was awesome.

In related news, I found a place in Bellevue WA that is having kegs and eggs for the US match on Friday.

Can't go wrong with Guiness at 7am.

Can't wait to try that place out!

I'm annoyed at the bad Casablanca reference in there. :td:

There's your poop reference for the rest of the week.

The US really should do away with pennies like many other countries have done. Same for $1 paper notes. I'd be totally fine with the smallest paper note being $5, and $1 and 50¢ coins being widely circulated instead. Heck, a $2 coin would make sense too.

I'm guessing the loonie isn't so looney an idea after all.@:-)

The power of the box?

The Hilton thread I linked to earlier was hovering just above 200 views when I posted about it in the box.

In the span of about 90 minutes after I posted the link in the box it jumped up to over 700. In the past 20 minutes, it's had one subsequent page view (which is pretty typical for the generally very docile HHonors forum).

It's always fun to flex the Box muscles.

I'm an amateur compared to those guys. The times I've broken the $10K barrier were:

1) 2 week trip to southern China with a weekend in Hong Kong. $9K plane ticket and a few nights at the JW Hong Kong made that easy.
2) A month with 2 trips to Germany at $4K/each.

icurhere2 Jun 16, 2010 2:06 pm

That's a tough red card.

Going on my first "work" trip with this company all the way to......Boston. This is for Schwab Impact and the only freakin hotel that has space available is a Marriott property. That is just about the only program I dont have status with .

I also assume that we will be taking Amtrak or some other means of transportation up there too.
