Thank you!
Well, at least that would break up the monotony of the weekly suburban tedium I've been enduring lately. Congrats on your news, bout time !

On a Dell laptop, there is a numeric keypad that is shared with the regular keys. You can access it by holding down the Fn key while typing the numbers (look for the letter keys with the blue numbers). Alt + Fn + numbers works on Dell laptops for special characters.

It's always fun to see your hometown in the news.

Started the day off with a run around the Notre Dame campus. Very, very, nice. I can't tell if I'm sweating so much because of the 98% humidity or the fact that I more or less spent an hour on the grounds of a giant church.
If I had stayed any longer I was worried something was going to combust.

The Photographer for The Joyous Gayla of Financial Drain is a friend of the family(well more of the sis's) and is donating his services.
What would be an appropriate tip? I was thinking 400ish sound about right? |

I keep looking at my savings account and thinking of all the wonderful, and productive, things I could be doing with that money (paying down the mortgage, upgrading to the :-: Suite at the Conrad MLE, paying off the Canuck's student loans, investing, etc.) and then I realize that all that money is earmarked for "Teh Joyous Gayla of Financial Drain." $400 plus any travel expenses seems appropriate. |
Got an e-mail from SPG, seems the aLoft in Lexington MA has 75 rooms for $75 Thur-Sat check-in, through 9/4

What do those of us with laptops without numeric keypads do? I've always wondered this. It's probably a really basic and idiotic answer, too. I've always had to resort to finding the character on a webpage and doing the cut/paste thing.

This was very helpful; it suggests the cause of a mystery in Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan, of course, suffers from a significant shortage of vowels; the language name itself relies entirely on the "helper vowel", y. Mongolia, however, is so vowel rich that it can afford to waste excess "a" in its city names. Probably the Mongols, under Genghis, sacked Kyrgyzstan, carrying off the linguistic treasures, causing an imbalance that persists to this day.
