LH whY (especially on the 744) is the true "slave ship" experience.

Did you enjoy the IFE including 3 hours of staring at the LH logo, followed by random short clips of DE heavy industry and interviews with Dr.Ing's?

I skipped the IFE in favor of trying to sleep. It was a sweat box. So hot on the plane. I got a decent 3 hour chunk of sleep towards the end of the flight.

Now out in downtown Frankfurt having some rindwurst und bier as a brunch snack. Walked alond the river a bit, too. Seems like a nice enough town, albeit certainly quiet on a Sunday.

Where are you off to?

I'm still hopeful for the lie-flat experience on Thursday.

Good day to you, sir. ^

I just accused the UA partisans of being cranky over auto-upgrades because they no longer have a system to pull shenanigans on. Should be a fun Sunday morning. :-:

 My bathtub drain is plugged up. Tried snaking out the PVC part of the pipe but it appears the problem is in the cast iron part which I won't be dealing with. Time to call teh plumber.

Good morning.

And the Indians won as well, for the rare double victory. ^

IME German cities are dead before noon on Sunday. Stores are closed all day and museums and cafés don't open until the afternoon. Then again, my experience in Frankfurt is limited to spending an hour and a half walking around the city center looking for a toy store and a used camera store and visiting a nice (albeit American-themed) bar somewhere to the north of the city center after work.

As a 1P, I liked the old system better. I am mostly on A319s and A320s (and now CR7s) with a minimal amount of F seats and there is pretty much no chance I will ever be upgraded, even with refundable tickets. At least with the old system there was always the chance that I could use miles to upgrade an A320 from the west coast.

On the other hand, I pay for a coach seat, so that's what I expect to get. At least I don't have to sit in the back of the plane (like on US).

So the morning has progressed to me looking outside to see that the pump that moves water to the top of the ponds wasn't working. Unfortunately, that pump is located in the bottom of the lower pond... so I donned the Crocks and got in the water to figure out what's going on. Luckily, it is all fixed now, but not after disrupting all the fish and the thousands of little tadpoles we now have.

What a great way to start a Sunday. :)

This expectation (and its attendant use of reasonable thinking) seems to be anathema to the majority of your UA FT brethren.

Picked up the wild flower seeds yesterday along with the pumpkin/gourd seeds, though nothing get planted up here (and survives) until Memorial Day weekend.
