Congrats! Now, if you cancel this, I think we'll demand that your turn in your Aerogeek Card.

My wife just got home and is very excited about the plans, so we should be good to go. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that there won't be too much rain in CPT in August (obviously not the best of times to go...).

Take it with a grain of salt, si?

My first trip down there was in July, and the weather was  (highs in low 50s, raining sideways). It can still be beautiful, though:

Hmm. I may have thought of an interesting possible long term reoccuring YouTube idea.

Off season is (usually) the best season, IMO. ^

Plus, you'll escape the heat for their winter. ^^

Beautiful! ^

Does anyone know how to assign seats on LX? Do I need to associate the PNR with a M&M account before it will give me that option?

There was a beautifully shot Flash ad for OZ and Korean tourism in my ABC.com viewing of Castle from the other night. Makes me want to go even more.

Yep. I actually like being there in fall/winter. On clear days it can climb into the 70s, and it's still pretty in its own way on rainy days. There are less crowds at the wineries, too. The city looked completely different from the air when I connected there from WVB. It looked fairly sun-baked and parched, which kind of bleached out some of the intense colors of the landscape that I've seen during cooler/wetter times of year.

You need the amadeus locator they use similar to LH.

I have that, but when I look up the reservation, there is no option to select seats. Am I missing something?

There was something about some thousand year old ruins that we were probably going to visit. With a picnic and wandering around for a few hours we'd pass the time....

I'm pretty sure that the ruins are on the Mainland but they definitely are an absolute "don't miss."

You can get a lot more of practical information about the Orkneys from Jenbel during the Shetlands visit.

I usually just call and give them the locator.
