Mandalay Bay rings a bell from the discussion two weeks ago. Guess I'll hit it up if I'm in the mood to escape the airport tomorrow.

:rollpuck:, any idea what routes DL's non-ER Domestic 763s are plying these days? Still need to snag one of those to complete my sampling of the 767 series.

TG 486 operates PER-HKT-BKK on an A330-300, with decent seats for regional biz. They look like the normal angled-flats, but only extend so far as recliner mode (quite comfy, though). They also have huge seat-back LCD screens. You deplane for about 45 mins in HKT. If you are continuing on an international connection from BKK, you don't even clear immigration. You just put your carry-ons through the x-ray, and hang out in the Royal Orchid Lounge until boarding recommences.

:-:

The Royal Orchid Lounge at HKT had some very tasty snacks while we were there.

ATL-MIA/FLL/TPA/JAX off the top of my head. high density leisure routes. Any 763 route out of CVG.

I think you sat in the same exact chair that I did. :D

Another one of the positives about HKT is that the lounge is never as full as the ones in BKK (which are always at capacity, IME).

I guess Hard Rock would be closer, but I was thinking of places on The Strip. I know next to nothing about Vegas, so my advice should be taken with a grain of salt.

I know the SEA-ATL red eye is a non-ER 763 as I am taking it next month. I think they also run some between ATL and SFO/LAX.

Kewl. I can add a HOU-ATL line and work in a trip to Florida with a new type all in one go. :-:

The large TG lounge at BKK (Concourse D, IIRC) was reasonably quiet while we were there but the Domestic TG lounge was a zoo! Fortunately we found a quiet area way back in this atrium type area that had no WiFi signal and was very light on the drinks/snacks. It was quite warm in late August as well.

But you are not going to forget the weekend events in TX on the weekend of the 9th right? :D

Are you doing the extra-crazy routing with AS via the Alaska panhandle?

No. I would likely do the DL thingy in the middle of hurricane season, when there are fare wars to Florida.

I've only seen the domestic lounge when it was empty, as I opted for the late night BKK-HKT on teh :rolleyes:moon to secure a ride on an A300. Whenever I've had an international flight ex-BKK, the satellite Royal Orchid lounges (there must be a dozen of them) have always been packed. However, Royal First lounge was one of the best lounge experiences I've had. ^

What's the difference between the ER and non-ER versions?
