Happiness is earning the following on a $49* base rate with Hyatt:

* 5,808 Gold Passport Points (base, diamond bonus, diamond amenity, G2, closed Regency Club)
* Diamond breakfast in the full-service restaurant
* Two Guinness
* A free scallop appetizer
* About 6 Nantucket Nectars from the "closed" regency club
* Quiet room in the executive wing

* I did use a $50 gift check acquired for $40 at Costco ...

The points alone or food alone are worth more than the stay cost. There are a few international Hyatt's and a large number of U.S. Hyatt Place hotels available as 5,000 point awards (no blackout dates) and some of these are pretty pricey. I know Hyatt Place Nashville Opryland approaches $200 over the holidays.

How long does it take for US flights to be reflected in BD? I don't want to consider the possibility of having to fight with the combination of US and BD for credit ...

Does anyone know if I can reserve an exit row seat in advance on Air Canuck as a Star Gold (on a fare that allows advanced seat requests)?

The answer is no. Paid the $25 as the only other option was a middle seat in the back of the bus. Too much for a 3 hr. flight. :rolleyes:

Hazing duly considered teh LAS PC option, I think I'll still aim for a casino. It's my first trip to Vegas (even if it's just a 4-hour layover). :-:

Just remember it is about 15 minutes from gate-to-curb at LAS. Your CO Plat card will let you into the Plat security line for Concourse D.
