I hope that's the case.

My first thought was your first statement, after seeing what Scott posted in full, I'm alright with the change.

Agreed. And, as has already been noted, there is a renumbering of the seats in Y cabin on the mainline aircraft in the works for later this year. That has also been speculated to be tied to the roll-out of a new seating arrangement down the road.

Only two unassigned seats on 1776...bump god prayers to commence over Hampton breakfast.

I agree. I've been saying for over a year now that I expected CO to add E+. I think we're starting to see the signs of that happening.

Devils won? Hadn't heard. It's about time they started that again.

Copa Connection = hilarious. It's very accurate too...my on-time percentage is better than hers. :-:

I've taken to deliberately emulating UA (and others) when dealing with Mrs. bdj's schedule - I pad the scheduled departure time to allow for ground delays, knowing that with the right padding, we'll hit our destination gate on-time. :-:

How so? Only if they buy a ticket less than 24 hours before departure is that even possible.

There is actually an industry-standard definition for pitch, unlike seat width. Pitch is defined as the distance between a point on one seat and the same point on the seat in front.

any point? that is what I was curious about, where the measure comes from. that also gets messed bad by reclines...

I do this often enough that it's a good possibility.

I know I like them a lot better, but I certainly didn't see it as that much of a difference.

This reminds me some, I've been meaning to take a tape measure and learn exactly where they get the 31" or 32" in measure from and see if it is the case :D

On the 738s and 739s it really is more than 5-7".

mornin' all!

Last nite traveling from IAH-AUS, I was in 4B. 4A went out empty, even though there were four on UGSB list. :td:

Although it's a short flight, it's the principle...

I totally agree!^:-:^

I think you have a crowd that agrees with your assessment.

My feeling with tickets purchased that close to departure has always been "You take what you can get." Sorry, but even with the current system, there's a good chance on many routes that the exit row is already full. This may actually increase your chances, simply because right now, those seats are a free for all once the online check-in window opens. Non-elites can grab the exit rows at that point for free. CO is now going to ask them for a credit card and to fork over some cash to get those seats. That may actually discourage some people from going for those seats that would have grabbed them for free.

I don't really see this negatively affecting seat choices for a last minute Gold or Platinum member that much. Time will tell, but I wouldn't panic over it. On most of my flights, a Gold or Platinum purchasing a ticket less than 24 hours before departure would already be stuck with a less than desirable selection of seats anyway.
