Well got my first(3/5) MEX hotel booked-looks like it's the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and Towers for me.

I know iPod packaging has been simplified a lot since the 3G iPod came out earlier in the decade, so I'm guessing that as it got more mass appeal, Apple decided they couldn't spend as much on packaging. The MBP still commands a pretty good price premium. Even then, it's probably not all that expensive per unit. 4 color heavyweight box, foam inserts, a few medium-weight molded trays. $5-7 on a $2500 laptop, maybe. Not a lot of wasted space in the box, which helps their cube utilization when they ship in bulk. It does surprise me that Acer would go fancy on a netbook, though. |
