I'm not sure how many of us actually fly DL on a regular basis (or ever) though... ;)

Thanks for the notice!

20,000 miles is 20,000 miles. At worst, that's a $200 gift card with the redemption levels available to me.

I went with the miles as well. As I said, it pushes me over 35k which (assuming I can find low-level availability) can get me to Alaska on a mixed F/Y itinerary.

Agreed. I want to be able to float down a river, drink beer for eight hours, and never get up to pee in peace.

I saw the human interest story (Tuesday night I guess) where they showed him helicoptering in to practice on his own private halfpipe, away from all the competitions' prying eyes. Not kidding.

Yeah red bull built that for him.

Do these rules also apply on the Frio and Blanco rivers?

Choose that Y routing carefully. Even SEA-ANC can be brutally long.

A Hill Country DO could also encompass Enchanted Rock/Becker Vineyards/Clifford's Wine Bar (in Wimberley). ^^^

I dunno that the Frio is tube-friendly anymore. The drought really nailed the springs that fed it. Not sure about the Blanco or the Pedernales for that matter. That said, I'm sure there are sections that could be used for sitting around and drinking if floating wasn't an option.

Alaska sees discounts. Destinations like YZF are almost never discounted. :-:

Every time I've driven over the Pedernales bridge (the one near where it dumps into Lake Travis), it's almost always dry.

Maybe lake LBJ or something would be an alternative.
