Don't feed the trolls in that thread. :D

It's shocking how everyone is zeroing in on the comment instead of the fact that a CEO of a major business took the time to email a customer.

The key is knowing how to efficiently feed them. A skill I am working on.

I was just trying to egg him into saying what he said, and he did. and it showed the reason for the reply.

The issue I have with cabs is the lines.

In my experience, the car service ends up costing about the same as a cab. The difference is that I can call Dial 7 as I land and a car will be waiting for my by the time I get to the curb.

The other advantage is, at least from LGA and EWR, the car services are fixed price so even if you get stuck in traffic, you're covered. Cabs, not so much. (JFK to NYC fares are fixed for those wondering).

As for Dial7, they are ok. Their drivers aren't always great at getting around, but the service isn't so bad that I'll avoid it.

I guess I assumed that he was flying into LGA. If thats not the case dont listen to me as I always take the bus/train from JFK/EWR.

He is flying into LGA. And I've never had problems with taxi lines that late in the evening. Now I only fly in about 2 - 3 times per year so take my datapoint with a grain of salt. :)

Every cab in Philadelphia is occupied right now. Just thought I'd share. :-:

The taxi lines at LGA are hit or miss, it all depends on timing. There are times when i've seen it long as hell and not moving and then there are times you walk up and get in a cab.

Perhaps I've been lucky then. I've only had to wait over 30 minutes once.. For the most part I've only had to wait five minutes or less. But then again, CO liked to put me into NYC 4+ hours late on a regular basis... so normally I was arriving past 11 pm.

While having your flight cancelled after boarding it does redefine "crappy night", the upside will come when belynch sits down and writes a book. Then all of his air travel misfortune will pay him back handsomely.
