Greetings from high above Olympic Park. The falling snow makes a wonderful back drop for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics taking place on TV. Too bad this scene is Atlanta Centenial Olympic Park and not Vancouver.

This was down the street about 45 minutes ago. I just can't escape this stuff.

Nothing personal, but I hope any visit around TPA is summertime ;)

 My husband is ignoring me.

Rolov, thanks for the proxy posting. Tonight has been an epic fail. US dropped the

To anyone that complains about COs irr.ops. - they need to fly a mile in my shoes.

What's going on in PHL tonight?

Probably just general weather-related . They don't clear the streets around here very well, and they don't seem to be salting them either, if the 6" high layers of ice in the middle of the road are any indication.

I was in the office today, and it took me half an hour to make the 10-minute drive to the highway. Then the interstate was a parking lot, so I took the back roads and was repeatedly blocked by  trying to make left turns across busy streets. My commute is 35 minutes without traffic, and 45 minutes with. It took me nearly 90 minutes to get home.

I am sorry to hear that. I am likely to experience that myself tomorrow, as I am flying out of Terminal F'ed.

Franny is like :D :D :D.

Whenever she follows the GPS, she ends up needing to call me to tell her where she is. She had been thinking that you might have been her long-lost sister. Now she knows.

This bit of the Olympic opening ceremony is apparently "The Devil Went Up To Canada" on the fiddle.

Mackieman Feb 12, 2010 8:47 pm

sbm12 just hit one out of the park. Great stuff. ^^

In other news, Mrs. Mackie is decidedly sick. She made the mistake of forgetting that she is not superwoman and cannot take on the whole world by herself. Taking on the whole world requires that one not sleep much in the effort of getting things done. The downside to that is she gets sick.

I've medicated her, got her dinner, and put her in bed. She was asleep in, literally, fifteen seconds. Hopefully she'll wake up in about 12 hours and feel like a new person.

I actually find it entertaining, except for the part where the announcers insist on expounding on the great history of the fiddle in Canadian heritage.

I'll beat him. US canceled our flight out of BOS when we were #2 to take off. It was WX.

They both beat the hell out of what happened to me this morning as DL canceled my 0930 LGA-DCA during my cab ride from Manhattan.

BUT, they sent me over to US for the 10AM where we were treated just as nicely as could be.

The ticket agent was pleasant as he took our Div Miles #s and put us on the UG list. The GA appeared to be absolutely concerned to get us up if those last two FC pax did not appear. They did not and the inflight crew was just as pleasant as could be.

Every one there seemed to be in such good humor and anxious to please the passengers. And I had forgotten how comfortable the FC seats are in the US Airbii. The US Shuttle beats the poop out of DLs.

I hope Mrs. Mackieman feels so much more un-'wobbly bonkers' in the morning.

(ps. Brituchenite I'm donating your royalties to charity, ok?)

Two somewhat random thoughts...

First, I apologize for missing the "true" 32K post in here just a few posts back. I meant to and then got distracted by the  and the  of the rest of FT.

Second, I posted on Twitter earlier tonight that I got dinged from my efforts to become a jetBlue in-flight crewmember (ie Flight Attendant). I had a brief exchange with someone there in which I included the word "resume" describing my failure. No more than 15 minutes later some jerk is following me and all his tweets are commercial links about fixing resumes. G:rolleyes: figure. :td:

My guess was that all the cabbies from the small countries stayed home for the ceremonies.

Insert gratuitous Philadelphia is not nearly as good as NYC joke here.

Canadian heritage??? Europeans laugh at us and Canada has much less.
