There are also several same day turns available from EWR to the west coast for about $230 a/i. Not the best MR (especially since they're direct flights) but they're good if you just want to spend a day flying. Most of the low fares seem to be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

And when you move out of the middle of nowhere and into reality you can join the rest of us and deal with the fact that the world doesn't exist solely for your benefit, even if you do pay taxes. ;)

We have that same rule as well. Our way around it was to buy a house in a neighborhood without sidewalks. I'm a bit surprised they were never put in, given that the neighborhood was built in the 1940s.

By the way, after a Gold/Plat bonus, both runs yield about 2.5 CPM. With the west coast run, you just get more miles without having to deal with regional jets and the hassle of potential ATC delays. :)

The town I lived in had a shovel the sidewalk rule. Of course the sidewalk was only on our side. I had some lady read me the riot act when I didn't get it shoveled quick enough for her. Never mind we were snowed in and the kids were all playing in the chest high snow the was in the middle of the street. :rolleyes:

We all now that when the snowplow shows up all that street snow ends up back on the sidewalk and I was only going to shovel it once.

Actually, EWR-SEA/PDX isn't nearly as difficult as EWR-LAX/SFO. In fact, my chances for an upgrade on the return are looking quite good. Either way, I definitely didn't pick the route for the upgrade potential.

I cleared my upgrade to SEA at the 5-day mark (as announced during brunch) and I'm flying the day of the Opening Ceremony.

Excuse me.....the world does revolve around him- He's an Elite customer. :D
