PROBLEM: Car reservations fall off the CURRENT view on the day of the reservation
I did a quick search but didn't find this listed here...
For CAR RESERVATIONS, my issue is that they "fall off" the CURRENT reservations view into the PAST reservations view on the day of the reservation. Whenever I go to review a car reservation on the day it is supposed to occur, I have to go to the PAST tab. It would be nice if they fell from CURRENT to PAST on the day AFTER the reservation. NOTE: This may also apply to HOTEL reservations but I haven't tried making any recently on CO.com. |

Attempting to change the return date the resulted in a display of reward availibility instead of regular availibility. Had to call and spend a LOT of time on hold while rate desk was consulted. Isn't this a great feature? It even happens if you later take the mileage upgrade off the reservation entirely. Afterwards, if you try to change to a different flight, you get the same reward availability screen with 0 availability! Somehow continental.com thinks the reservation was one that you booked entirely using miles. On the other hand, it doesn't show even EasyPass availability in the erroneous screen. It seems as if the reservation is eternally damned. |

This is getting really frustrating. I am trying to book a Y fare for an automatic upgrade to F and even though I put in the fare class I want (Y) it shows me only a discounted fare when the pricing comes up.
This never happened to me before. Have I suddenly started doing something wrong? CHeers |
LAX to DPS Issues
When searching for flights from LAX to DPS on Expedia, the cheapest flights came up on CO. So, I went to CO.com for a quick search. A departure date of July 1 and return July 17 yielded this error message:
Denpasar Bali, Indonesia (DPS) is not currently served by Continental or its partners. Service ends on Sun., Jul. 1, 2007 and begins again on Thu., Jul. 5, 2007. Please modify your search criteria. I then moved the date to depart Jun 30 and then got this reply: Denpasar Bali, Indonesia (DPS) is not currently served by Continental or its partners. Service ends on Thu., Jun. 28, 2007 and begins again on Sun., Jul. 1, 2007. Please modify your search criteria. Then search the timetable using tomorrow as a departure date (as an effort to see if CO actually flies to DPS) and got this: Denpasar Bali, Indonesia (DPS) is not currently served by Continental or its partners. Service ends on Sun., Jun. 3, 2007 and begins again on Thu., Jun. 7, 2007. Please modify your search criteria. Is there any easy way on CO.com to find a simple list of airports served? |

I have really been noticing some strange appearances on the reward booking engine in the last few days ...
The most obvious was when running an intl search, the second flight of each choice wouldn't show anything but the dates and times -- no flight #, no city, nothing. And today, a CO agent told me about a new issue: I had a reserveration on hold for an intl flight but no matter what I did, I couldn't view the reservation online. She explained that agents put some type of character called an "arnk" which they nicknamed "AR-RUNK" to indicate I was flying an open jaw itinerary. As soon as she removed the arnk, I was able to IMMEDIATELY view it online. |
Viewing an itinerary thats already started
Found this oddity viewing a reservation, I doubt it can be easily improved though.
I am currently in the middle of CLE-MSP, MSP-IAH-AUS, AUS-IAH-CLE, I am in MSP until the morning. I started the trip Monday morning. This afternoon I OLCI for MSP-IAH-AUS. This evening I viewed the reservation on co.com and it properly displays it. However below the CLE-MSP flight it displays "Check Flight Status". Clicking it tells me the flight arrived yesterday morning 16 minutes early. My complaint though is why is there no "Check Flight Status" button below my pending flight for MSP-IAH-AUS? Wouldn't this make more sense since the www functionality is obviously there to check flight status? |
FYI, in another thread I read that CO is planning its next WWW site update on June 24....

Reward Travel - Back button bug
Was using miles to book the IAH-DO and of course I ran into a CO.COM bug.
Was logged into my account and started the flight search (Reservations(from top toolbar) --> Make Flight Reservations). Went through and selected my reward travel dates. The final screen before purchase is "Review Ticket Details", at the bottom are three buttons (Continue, Reserve, and Back). Selecting the Back button simply reloads the same screen without taking you back to select a different flight. I tried this in both IE 7 and Netscape 7.2, same results. One thing I did notice though is it works if you are not logged into your account before the flight search starts. |
Reward Travel: YYZ-> ICN (no search results)
If I search a reward ticket from Toronto to Seoul (ICN), then
"Continental.com could not find any available flights for reward travel meeting your requirements. You may modify your search criteria, or in the U.S. and Canada call 1-800-300-1547; the U.K., phone 0800 096 1885; elsewhere contact your local Continental Reservations Office for assistance." But if I search from DTW -> Seoul, then there are a lot. If I search from YYZ-> DTW, then there are a lot. Why can't co.com combine them? Another request: YKF (Kitchener airport, Ontario) is served by NW. When I search "YKF->DTW", then it says that YKF is not served by any partner airline. I would prefer booking online than calling the elite line for an hour. |
Reward Issues
1) Was booking Thanksgiving week, ABE-SAV. Had a standard award outbound, full load on the return (duh!). Was playing around looking at other cities (can do open jaw now!) and when I went back to ABE-SAV, the calendar was showing 19 NOV open but the selections were all full load. The only way I could it do display the standard flights was to totally exit out and begin a new search, then the std flight came back in the display.
2) Did a reward trip in Aug. PHL-MDW, ORD-PHL. When I try to access the reservation I get "We were unable to review the latest information for this itinerary". 3) The two itineraries will not assign seats. When I did Chicago I was able to pick seats in the reservation process but at the end it said "unable to assign". The SAV trip I can access online but the seat selections made at the time of reservation as well as later when I pull up the reservation, do not take with the same message given. |

No notification of schedule change
I'm in the midst of a 4-leg trip (EWR/BNA/DCA/EWR) that was ticketed back on 3/26. My return this Sunday on my original itinerary was for 9AM. I wanted to check my arrival time, but when I looked at my account tonight U noticed that the flight was at 10:49A! I'd never been notififed of the 2 hr change. Since I have to fly back out early Monday afternoon and need at least a little bit of time at home, that just wouldn't work. :(
The upside is that when I called the CSR moved me to the 7:00A flight with no questions asked. As she put it , "I could tell that something wasn't right". My concern, however, is that I was never notified of the schedule change at all either via email or text msg. I get all of my other notifications via Trip Advisor for departure info and upgrades, so I'm sure it was never sent. |
Just booked my flights to the Sept IAH DO on CO.COM.
eTicket Itinerary and Receipt for Confirmation arrived via email seconds later with a footnote next to both flights reading "Check-in at the Northwest Ticket Counter" That might be a little difficult as NW does not serve CRP so there IS NO NW TICKET COUNTER! I assume that the program that generated the email saw the 55xx flight number and thought it was a NW codeshare as opposed to Chautauqua Airlines, Inc. dba Continental Express. |
Future CO.com suggestion
After booking some tickets for family last week on hawaiianairlines.com, I liked that they had a space to enter the name of the "Travel Planner" in case the person making the reservation is not the traveller. There's probably about 20 people that come to me for making there travel arrangements, and it's often a hastle when I have to call CO for whatever issues come up.
So, I was thinking this might make a nice addition -- then last night I got a call that showed up with an 808 area code. To my surprise, It was Hawaiian Airlines. As soon as I said who I was, they said, "Oh, your the travel planner." They called because my uncle left a bag on board from HNL to KOA - and it would its way back to HNL before being found. I was afraid it might be some very important medication - and upon my approval they opened it up to check. |
OLCI (pda.continental.com)
Two issues today.
Update: Couldn't get in again today with OP or Conf. Called co.com support. They checked and explained that this occurs when EUA is running (not in those words). I assume that they lock records. Note to CO.COM IT: have you heard of read-locks? |
Reward Travel Chart
Was looking to book a Reward ticket ORD - LAS and the outbound date had only easypass rewards but the return flight showed standard FC with the date in color but no standard tickets showed. Anyone else have that problem?

Odd thing with an itinerary and seating.
Had a flight purchased last week on co.com, a day later I changed it to include some other cities, I did this over the phone. Today I printed/viewed my reservation from My Account as I got a 5 day out EUA email notice. The seats for my flights listed 2a|---|---|---|---. I went to view/change seats and it also displayed this. I changed from 2A to 2B, then selected the tab for the second flight. All of a sudden it displayed seat assignments for all of the remaining flights. Maybe the account was out of synch or something and changing the seat then caused the other seats to be displayed...odd.... |

I find it funny though when I view the reservation it says near the bottom By selecting the Continue option, I acknowledge and accept the schedule change explained above. . There is a Continue and Back button, hitting the back button aborts the confirmation. Like I have a choice....:) |
"Added to First Class Standyby List" on co.com printed boarding passes - shows on second segment when already in FC:
Situation 1 - two segment flight - Passenger 1 (Plat) Flight 1: In coach - above message on boarding pass - OK Flight 2: In FC (few days before) - above message appears on BP - WRONG - Already in First Class - does not need to state on second pass Situation 2 - two segment flight - Passenger 2 (Silver) Flight 1: In FC - no message - OK Flight 2: In coach - above message as it should be - OK |
Problems with OnePass signup / address verification page
I (an NW elite) am flying an upcoming award trip on CO metal.
A non-FT friend purchased tickets on the same flights directly from CO. Because of her travel patterns and the fact that she will earn 100% EQMs if she credits her mileage to OnePass, I have encouraged her to sign up for OnePass. However, we experienced great difficulties with the OnePass signup page -- specifically, the USPS address verification page. After entering her address, a page would load purportedly "matching" her address to the "correct" official address maintained by the Postal Service. Regardless of which option selected on that page ("use previously entered address," "use suggested address", etc.), pressing the "Continue" button caused the system to spit us back out onto the opening page. Only by entering the exact address (including the ZIP + 4) suggested as the USPS "official" address were we able to bypass this screen and obtain a OnePass number. It took a number of attempts and was quite frustrating. |
When I book within 3 hours on co.com it asks me to call we support at some point along the process. I finished a trip and yet to receive 5.00 in my gift account. Did get my 25.00 voucher when i canceled a purchase using gift account funds in two weeks so that was a pleasant surprise. I hope to use said voucher and discount coupon on next trip due to the fact it came from said gift account.

Onepass Reward Upgrade at Booking
I was starting to make a resedrvation for next month CLE-DUB, EDI-CLE and noticed H fares at $200 more than discount. Decided to search for upgradeable BF seats.
I searched for CLE-DUB (7/14), EDI-CLE (7/21) and selected the checkbox for OnePass Reward Upgrade. The next screen displays the following: ! We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions. ! Due to the cities in your itinerary and the OnePass Mileage Upgrade rules, only one flight may be upgraded at a time. Please select one flight to upgrade below. You will have the opportunity to select additional flight for this trip in Manage Reservations once your flight purchase is complete. Once at that screen no matter if you check each destination individually it repeats the same message. Selecting no flights to upgrade then presents the following message: ! We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions. ! Please select at least one flight for upgrades. So you are stuck with the cancel button at that screen. Selecting it takes you back to the make a flight reservation to start the entire reservation over. :td: Tried it in both Netscape and IE. |
Few things...
1. Waitlist for mileage upgrades does lots of bad things, as has been reported previously. However, please know that the effects remain even after the waitlist is canceled. For example, if you attempt to change flights after the waitlist has expired, co.com still searches only for award tickets. 2. Confirmed standby: standby segment as well as future unflown segments move to "past." The entire itinerary becomes unviewable by any means (including OLCI) at the moment the "current" segment is within one hour. Specifics: sjc-ewr changed to sjc-iah-ewr (noon departure). At 10:58 or so, I did olci. At 11:01 I tried to review the seat assignment for the iah-ewr segment (7:05 departure) using OLCI but was unable - even using the e-ticket number. Message was that there were no valid flights. The entire itinerary moved to, "past." I was able to view the record using conf # and name, but couldn't save it to my account. 3. OLCI at pda.continental.com: as noted in an earlier post, the seat assignment page when not changing seats might change anyway. Let me add that under certain circumstances (none of which are clear to me), you just get the last seat (highest number, highest row) no matter what you select. Going back and re-selecting the correct seat fixes the problem (as long as no one snagged it in the meantime). 4. CLEHillbilly: it's been documented that the online upgrade is domestic only. I would expect a better error message. |
I too ran into the new Onepass account error today signing up a colleague. It would be nice if that was fixed.... how irritating!!!
|
PLEASE fix the open jaw viewing iten issue. Most of my flights are open jaw and this is ANNOYING.

I've been informed the open jaw fix will be updated this weekend.

Can't get info on PCs
Not a booking issue, but when you click for info on an individual PC (e.g., "Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS)) you get the "We're sorry" message

BillMeLater/Reservation web issue/AVOD 757 movie list
Here's one. I made a reservation over the phone for a CO flight with partner segments EWR-EDI(on KLM:EDI-AMS-ARN)-EWR.
Couple of things. 1. Tried to use billmelater as the payment option for an on hold phone reservation. It is not available. Rep says you cannot use this as a payment option for reservations on hold. Tried via the web as well and the option is unavailable. This has happened a number of times to me. 2. After I flew my KLM segments my reservation mysteriously disappeared from CO.COM. It shows only the receipt under "past reservation" even though I still have remaining segments. I am only able to view the reservation via confirm# & last name. 3. More a question than anything else. I'm going on an AVOD 757 flight in BF from ARN-EWR. There is no listing of movies on the CO site for AVOD equipt systems. It's a great feature, terrifc selling point and should be promoted more. 4. One last thing. In EDI (and a few other Europe airports) there are shared ticket counter facilities. The boarding passes printed out at these stations do not contain any Skyteam Elite status. I was turned back at the gate when I tried to preboard with the rest of the elites. Only the production of a Skyteam elite card (which was in my checked luggage-DOH!) permits preboarding. Thanks for the help COinsider. Most appreciative of all your efforts! |
WRT reservations, I cannot view a res that I have a waitlisted segment on (Scott, its the ZRH trip you guys helped me with).
just spits out Error - We were unable to review the latest information for this itinerary. |

Automatic redeposit on waitlist expiration... not.
The automatic expiration of the upgrade waitlist (domestic series "o") seems to be working (albeit a few minutes early), but not the promised automatic redeposit of miles.
This is the text in the email: Will Mileage be Redeposited? If we are unable to upgrade any of your flights for this direction of travel, any miles deducted will be automatically credited back to the account from which they were withdrawn. In some cases, mileage will also be redeposited for partially upgraded itineraries. For specific details go to continental.com. |
No Aeroflot Bonus listed among FF programs in traveler's information
SU is a full SkyTeam member for quite some time now. However, it's not a choice to be put on a reservation as a FF number on co.com.
Can this be fixed please? |
Awards including a virgin atlantic codeshare in economy show up as "(G) Upper Class". I can see the confusion- G is a continental reward class in Y, but a paid J class on VS.
It should say (G) Economy, though. |
