I can see available exit-row seats on existing reservations, but I ain't buyin' a ticket unless I'm guaranteed 14A or F, so the pre-booking viewability needs to be fixed pronto.

My EUA's are still coming to my regular email address, not the text message email to my cellphone. The text message was set some years back for EUA. I reported this before - and still not fixed.
EUA's being sent to the wrong email - not the one in the profile for EUA. |

I hope someone is going to fix this soon! |
I received a 5 day EUA for a flight I am taking tomorrow night. This evening, when I went to check in for the flight, I was still asked if I wanted to be upgraded if F seats were available.
|
for the second time (that is, I am now sure I didnt screw it up the first time) I have been charged the full amount to my credit card even though I had checked to deduct part of the funds from my travel bank balance
|
I am having the same problem.

I don't know if this is a bug or more like a complaint in general...but I'll do it anyway: I use the Timetable page under Travel Info when I'm looking for flights...when I click on "Search for flights with seat avilability", the page doesn't populate the city pair I was just looking at in Timetable. You would think this could be done.

Seat Assignment with ABE - EWR 1st Segment Trips
My apologies if this has been brought up before -- I searched and found nothing.
If ABE - EWR (the COEX shuttle bus) is the first segment in a trip then it is impossible to make seat assignments stick for the rest of the flight segments. Tickets booked CO.com always come back with no seats assigned. When trying to assign (or change) seats online - the selections/changes dont take. I know the bus is open seating but internally there is a seat map used to allocate the load. When that seat map is brought up on CO.com it looks very strange. This has been a problem for a while. I obviously solve the problem with a phone call, but it would be better if I could make these seats stick online. |
When viewing "Timetable Results" (e.g. you search for flights scheduled between two points) and you modify your search and hit the Enter key...the page reloads but the new data you entered is ignored and returned right back to what you had.
To repro: 1) go to the main page and click Flight Status; 2) search for EWR - LAX and hit Enter; 3) change EWR or LAX or both in the page that appears and hit Enter. I absolutely hate using the mouse so I use it as little as possible. It just slows things down when you can type really fast. -RM |
Upgrade reward availability glitch
Since we can check F class availability on Co.com for other international flights, such as EWR-FRA, I don't see why the EWR-HKG route, and others (i.e. MNL-GUM, DPS-GUM, GUM-HNL) is/are restricted. Is there a glitch on the website? It is such a waste of time to keep calling continental everyday when I am looking for an upgrade reward, while I could easily look online and get the upgrade in a few seconds.
Below is the specific messages that I get on the Co.com website: For example, EWR-HKG, I get an error message saying "! We are not able to process a OnePass Reward Upgrade reservation online for your selected itinerary. Please uncheck ""OnePass Reward Upgrade"" to proceed with this reservation without an upgrade." and I cannot see the flight results until I uncheck the upgrade box. However, when I check for an upgrade on another international flight, let's say EWR-FRA, I receive this message "! A OnePass Reward Upgrade is not available on this date. The flights below are available Economy flights for your selected date." (this message does not appear if upgrade seats are available) while I am able to view the flights, even though there's no upgrade. |
I've got an upcoming itinerary for July, including two redeye-flights (one trans-con, and one TATL).. They are showing the departure date as the arrivel date..
Depart:19:50 Thu., 17 Jul., 2008 New York/Newark, NJ (EWR - Liberty) Arrive:9:35 Thu., 17 Jul., 2008 Oslo, Norway (OSL) |
Text Messages
I don't text, have no plan allowance. I pay $0.25 per message. The CO text messages come filled with fluff and are split into 5 messages. Each time I get one of these it costs me $1.25 and I still can't read all of it.
Worse, I make a change and it texts me telling me I made a change, again at $1.25. |
You guys aren't gonna like this one: a friend who's a former Elite (made Silver for 2007, but didn't for 2008) just reported that he printed out an EliteAccess boarding pass for a flight tomorrow.

I occassionally run into problems using the DD/MM/YYYY notation for dates on co.com. Today it was when trying to set up flight alerts for a just-booked trip. When I entered the date "02/07/2008" I received the error:
Only dates between 23 Apr., 2008 and 26 Mar., 2009 can be accepted for the Depart Date. Please modify the Depart Date and or Depart Date Time. |

pda.continental.com or wap.continental.com does not work on my Nokia 6086 phone. I keep getting file format unknown. It works fine with every other website around. Only the mobile website for co.com does not work.

Major problems (for me) on CO.com today
Error messages when trying to book a reservation. All kinds of glitches throughout the process. The reservation is not showing up under My Reservations. Now when I put in the confirmation # I get a combination of someone else's and my reservation. I am going to PM it to Scott but it's very whacky.

I hope this is just an isolated case for you and they fix it post haste |
I just used the "Upgrade Reservation Using Miles" function on Continental.com to upgrade an EWR-CDG B fare to BusinessFirst, and it gave me the upgrade for $0 and 0 miles! Never had to enter my PIN or select a method of payment.
When I look at the reservation, it appears that it was indeed upgraded to F. I'm wondering now whether or not I should call Continental to beg them to take my miles and $$$... :) |
I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 5 and clicking on links from emails, it fails on the valid SSL cert. In the emails, the links just point to http://continental.com... but the SSL cert itself is issued to www.continental.com.
Changing the URL to add the 'www.' did the trick or just adding an exception for continental.com. Though, average folk may get confused and not know what to do. The URLs in the emails really should have the 'www.' to match the SSL cert name. |
Two things,
First when buying a "Y" fare, the website used to provide you an option to upgrade and then would display a seatmap for the FC cabin. Now, it does "AU" you, but displays the coach seat map. Second, I have requested to receive a Text Message for my trip alerts but I also receive a phone call witch I am not interested in. Is there a way to only recive a Text message? If not, that would be a nice option to add. |
Twice now, last week Monday and again Today, I have received this error message when trying to check-in at the 24 hour mark. This happens when typing the confirmation number in the "print boarding pass" box on the co.com home page, as well as the "check in now" link on the itinerary summary. Seemingly seconds later, check-in works.
Unable to Complete Check-in ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are unable to complete the check-in process as your flight departs in less than one hour. Airport check-in is required. |

I can't sign into CO's website when on my Blackberry. I tried checking in online many times from the BB and it wouldn't take my 1 Pass number. I can SEE all the questions and try to type in the answers, but it doesn't let me. Nothing shows up. I have no trouble with any other site, it even lets me check my reservations at Starwood. Anyone else have this trouble or is it something I should talk to TMobile about?
|
Has there ever been talk of CO updating their online route map? Static PDF files are terrible, something flash based would be a great improvement.

Strange temporary hiccup in my itinerary
CO Insider, feel free to PM me for my itin numbers if you feel this is worth following up. It fixed itself so it may not be. I still found it interesting.
Mrs. texd & I are going to MSY for Memorial Day weekend, but I'm going a day ahead of her (college baseball tournament) and she's taking Xjet down there (better schedule) and CO back on the same return as me. So I booked our flights on CO.com separately and looked for adjacent aisles to seat us in. There were none in the back so I booked myself in elite aisles that had adjacent empty seats. Then I called the Elite line to move Mrs. texd up to the adjacent empties. While the agent had her flight itin open, I opened mine on CO.com so I could tell her the right seats. MSY-IAH, no problem; IAH-AUS she couldn't do because I had booked an Exit Row (because that was the only option for aisles when I booked). When I looked at the flight in my itin on CO.com, it was now showing my flights as being MSY-IAH 5/26 but IAH-AUS 5/27 (still the same flights, so a 25+ hour layover). The agent checked my records and showed me as being all 5/26. I reloaded my CO.com itin and it still showed me on two different days. Reloaded one more time and it fixed itself. As for seating, I just left her seat separate from mine and will hope I can get her companioned up (on a 735... yeah right.) |
I recently added a traveler to my profile, and CO.com had changed my own default phone #s to the saved traveler's #s. It also wouldn't let me delete or edit said #s until after multiple attempts. Very annoying because I do use the SMS alerts and they would not have been going to my cell phone. Good thing I happened to notice!

OLCI not available when first leg is on another ST carrier
I recently flew EWR-CDG-NCE with the TATL portion on CO and the domestic CDG-NCE flight on Air France. When I did OLCI for the outbound flight, I received quite properly my boarding passes for both the CO and AF flights. When I tried to do OLCI for the return, it failed and CO.COM told me that was because my first return leg from NCE to CDG was on AF. I got my AF confirmation number on the phone from AF and tried checking in on their site to no avail.
I think this is a either a serious bug or lack of functionality affecting the many return flights from Europe that start with a partner flight. (1) Not to be able to do OLCI means having to arrive earlier at the airport to check in (if not checking luggage). (2) Until you actually check-in at the airport you do not have the ability to change our seat on your CO flight in the last 24 hours. That means you can't grab a better seat that became available through cancellation, upgrade, making disabled seats available for all, etc. If a partner carrier is able to accept a CO OLCI boarding pass for an outbound flight from say CDG to NCE, why shouldn't they be able to do it in reverse? |
Can't re Y-up on Changed Itenarary
I was supposed to be flying CRP-IAH-EWR on a y-up today, but had to change it to Monday. When I went to pick seats on the new flights, no option to re-y-up.

solved my own problem
Re: above post
Ok, solved my own issue.. you have to go to the view reservation screen, choose upgrade, then go back and pick seats. |
New feature request:
I would really like an addition to continental.com's email notification options. I'd like to have continental.com send me calendar invitations for all segments that I book. If I change a flight then send me either an update or to keep it simple a new invite. I know there are various programs to sync travel schedules, etc. but this would just be so much simpler, and the format for the calendar invites are completly standardized across all of the email systems. Thanks! Scott |
Non stop flights after 11/1 to TXL not shown on CO.COM
The title basically says it. Only connecting flights are shown from EWR to TXL for period after 11/1. Have they not been loaded? They show up in Sabre. There's a seperate thread on this also,
