Use a Sharpie and modify the old one, this year in and effort to save costs Continental is really mailing us lajels to stick on the old cards we have so save them!

The labels were purchased at Staples - The Office Supply Superstore and were ran through the color laser printer at Smith Street, but then they ran out of toner and were already at toner quota with Xerox, so they had to wait t'ill now to order more; I hear the labels are quite stylish and were designed with the Avery Label Design Wizard available for free download at www.avery.com . They say on the label "2006 ___ Elite - Really this is the card!"

(I just couldn't help it)

I emailed the OPSC today - got a reply apologizing for the delay and stating that I (we?) should be receiving them by March 15.

Now as to my theory:

They sent them all with $.37 postage & got them back.

It's just the small things like this (which should be somewhat automated and a "no brainer") that makes you worry that if they can't handle this, how can they handle the more complicated items?!?!

In addition, we're crazed frequent flyers who have this huge blog...if we don't talk about it, who will!?!?

When requesting access to partner lounges they often want to see the current card regardless of what the BP says. In the past whenever I have used expired cards there was always trouble, but YMMV.

Why I care: I want a current card to access SkyTeam partner lounges without having to argue my way through the matrons.

Now, in the list of things I have to worry about, this is twoards the bottom. But, it's still on the list

Free drink coupons is the only reason I can think of. If I can't get an upgrade, I might as well drink away my sorrow.

Luggage tags? You aim low. How about 978 drink coupons, 43 club passes, gift certificates to hub terminal businesses, and management's cell phone numbers.

The cell numbers so that I can call them in situations like I had the other day, when an FA on EWR-SFO got really pissy with me because I had a 3 year old who "had to go" to the bathroom (people with kids will know what that's like) during boarding and I had the temerity to go to the front bathroom from row 7 of coach.

This poor 3 year is about to take a leak all over herself and the floor, which the FA knows, and she's trying to force me to go to the back - through about 20 people standing in the aisle putting their stuff in the overheads.

Then, when she decides to let us into the front lav, she yells "You better be quick" as I'm closing the lav door. My daughter went to to the bathroom and we were seated again at least 5-6 minutes before the door closed, and nobody was inconvenienced. In fact, one pilot and two people from FC went in and out of the lav after us - and before the door closed.

I would have called Larry if I had his number.

Sorry for the rant. It ticked me off.

I suspect there are reasons we can't so easy find out Larry's Mobile Number... Although I would email him if it really concerns you enough...

I...am...so...annoyed...right...now.... I am leaving for a trip in a couple of days where I'll want to enter an overseas lounge. Looking forward to jet-lagged arguing about my 2005 plat card.

But we do know it - or at least we know the second best thing. Email to Larry - or at least all my emails - to which he has replied have always come from a Blackberry. Hence, I suspect messages reach him quickly.

The emails of the various Continental people we have all prove to be useful resources when used properly, but comon having larry's mobile phone would be a whole different ball game Messages do get to all the various execs quickly I have found, sometimes I do notice it takes them a bit of time to answer (whyich I can imagine they are very busy).
