You'll be on the 777. IMO, the only seats to avoid are 1DE and 8DE since people tend to cross over between the aisles. I'm also not a big fan of rows 8-10 because they are after the boarding door and everyone on their way to coach passes by your seat. Other people swear by that mini-cabin because it's more "intimate" and apparently the service is slightly better.

I just returned from that trip. I would suggest that you go for the middle or center fuselage BF seats as they are all aisle. I would suggest 1st BF cabin over the 2nd, but many seem to like the second BF cabin as it is more intimate - You also have a better shot at some popular meals as at times the 1st cabin may run out of an particular item (happened on my flight with the shrimp entree, lucky for me I wanted the veal chop). The E terminal P club is the one to go to, though if you are connecting on a RJ, the B terminal PC is good as well.

there ain't much close to IAH, but if you rent a car (you can sometimes get it for $20 a day, not a bad deal), you could drive to Johnson Space Center, that could be interesting. It's about 50 miles, but should be a fairly easy drive, especially if you stay out of traffic and take the Beltway to the Gulf Freeway.
You could drive a little further (70 miles) to Galveston Island, which is somewhat interesting. It's better as a tourist spot than to live here (I know, I live here), but the beaches are nothing like south of France, and the architecture is pretty nice for Texas, but not nearly as old as Europe. Oh, we also have Moody Gardens: http://www.moodygardens.com

Thanks emailkid - but I definitely don't want to rent a car ... and yes, the beaches in the south of france are nice, I'm from Antibes, so I know ;-)
If there's any other idea, I'll take it ...

It's not that bad, the shuttles will take you right to the agency. And IAH is fairly far from everywhere, so taxis aren't going to be cheap.
There are shuttle vans you could probably take, but I don't think they go all the way to Clear Lake area (JSC). The Galleria (shopping center) is quite famous; a lot of people from Mexico fly to Houston just to go shopping there (not my thing).
Houston's just not really a tourist destination, IMHO. Hopefully others who actually live in the city can come up with better suggestions. Closest suburb to IAH is Humble, maybe you coud do an interntet search on it, the taxi fare there shouldn't be quite so bad.

I"m now thinking about trying the "second" BF cabin on one of my flights, but I have a question. I have noticed (maybe on AA or UA, I don't remember) that they don't pull the curtain during the flight between the different cabins, for security reasons. Is this the case for CO as well ?
