How much are you using Continental?
This is a question that I am hoping many will answer. I have started thinking about it more since so many people seem to be looking at alternatives.
I want to know which airlines you are using on a percentage basis this past year. I guess I am generally asking on the basis of which airlines you are using to make status for Elite (I am Gold for 2002 and have made Gold for 2003) and so-on.
I know for myself, I think I have only used Continental twice this year; however, I have been somewhat of a Northwest groupie. My onepass account has become more of a holding bin for partner miles; and less of a "loyalty" account to Continental.
I don't know if I had avoided CO because of all the crap I have heard on boards such as flyertalk. Or if it is because I shake my head in disbelieve whenever I check price on CO, and I feel like every fare I see is secertly a Y fare in a B fare wrapper.
If the Delta thing does happen, I may use CO even less in the future as I tryout another airline. It is just a weird feeling that I feel like I am stealing status from Continental, but not really giving them anything for it. Northwest has be giving me Elite upgrades to first, as well as America West (I am sorry to see HP go being PHX based myself). So I feel like I am still getting my benefits. Does anybody know what I mean?
But I will shut-up now, here is my breakdown with an estimate of how well my Elite upgrade has worked this year:
Continental - 10% (upgraded 100%)
Northwest - 75% (upgraded 90%)
Alaska - 5% (upgraded 0%)
America West - 10% (upgraded 100%)

Continental 29% (75% upgrade)
Northwest 14% (50% upgrade)
Delta 57% (mostly reward travel- tried to use up the miles before I lost elite status and had to check-in/board with the hoi polloi
Since March the miles have gone towards BizElite)In any event, it seems that till this point most of my paid travel has been on CO.

CO 60% Mostly RJ's from SDF upgraded 25%
NW 40% upgraded 75%
I have also started flying NW more often because I have more opportunity to upgrade due to their use of larger aircraft from my home airport. I HAVE to use CO at times because ONLY they fly to some of my business destinations from SDF. If I had a choice, I would probably change airlines. CO has definitely changed for the worse recently.

CO: 60% (upgraded 60%)
HP: 15% (upgraded 100%)
UA: 25% (upgraded 15%)
60% is not a bad upgrade % for a Silver.
And 15% is an excellent upgrade % for a UA 2P. I actually got to use upgrade certs on UA!

this is looking interesting from the small amount of replys so far. it seems that i am not the only one that uses northwest more than continental. yes, i am including all flights (domestic and international). i wonder if the opposite is true: worldperks people using alot of continental?
for full disclosure, i adjusted my continental upgrade number (100%) based on the fact that my two RJ flights didn't count (but i imagine if a FC was available to CAE i would have gotten it).
please keep the numbers coming, but i have to say it is interesting to see that many people are getting decent (not incredible, but decent) Elite upgrade percentages.
please, i ask kindly, lets not turn this thread into something else (ranting about upgrades), and go in the wrong direction. Again, it just looks interesting that quite a few of us are doing okay on upgrades.
