How much are you using Continental?
This is a question that I am hoping many will answer. I have started thinking about it more since so many people seem to be looking at alternatives.
I want to know which airlines you are using on a percentage basis this past year. I guess I am generally asking on the basis of which airlines you are using to make status for Elite (I am Gold for 2002 and have made Gold for 2003) and so-on.
I know for myself, I think I have only used Continental twice this year; however, I have been somewhat of a Northwest groupie. My onepass account has become more of a holding bin for partner miles; and less of a "loyalty" account to Continental.
I don't know if I had avoided CO because of all the crap I have heard on boards such as flyertalk. Or if it is because I shake my head in disbelieve whenever I check price on CO, and I feel like every fare I see is secertly a Y fare in a B fare wrapper.
If the Delta thing does happen, I may use CO even less in the future as I tryout another airline. It is just a weird feeling that I feel like I am stealing status from Continental, but not really giving them anything for it. Northwest has be giving me Elite upgrades to first, as well as America West (I am sorry to see HP go being PHX based myself). So I feel like I am still getting my benefits. Does anybody know what I mean?
But I will shut-up now, here is my breakdown with an estimate of how well my Elite upgrade has worked this year:
Continental - 10% (upgraded 100%)
Northwest - 75% (upgraded 90%)
Alaska - 5% (upgraded 0%)
America West - 10% (upgraded 100%)
