Too bad these are wasted.

I didn't read terms and I thoght I could book by end of Jan 2013.

We try not to participate in cert trading in this forum -- it potential would change the nature of the forum.

as for the certs themselves, they have questionable value once you read the T&Cs. Deep discount fares are not eligible, for instance.

I received 2 certificates last year but I have not received any this year. I just received my club passes, so I'm assuming my Anniversary Date has passed. Any idea when I should receive the Travel Discount Certificates? I'm trying to book a trip to Mexico this December and my certificates expire on September 30, 2013. It looks like it is an "N" fare code which should qualify.

Any thoughts?

Highly doubtful. While N is not specifically excluded (N is a new deep, deep economy discount fare class -- the most discounted presently) on the older certs -- the intent of V or higher fares is pretty clear.

The terms changed some time ago. 09CHFS are no longer restricted to V or higher https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...Conditions.pdf. Also, they are no longer a benefit of the MileagePlus Explorer card. Older 09CHFS certs that say you can't use them with W/S/T/L etc. are subject to the newer terms that don't block those fares.

Thanks so much for posting this info.
I've been struggling to make use of these with the old restrictions:
Maximum discount of $20 for travel to/from Houston ..... etc
Not valid on Fridays and Sundays
