Discounted Drinks?
I was on a CO flight recently (coach) when the person sitting next to me passed her credit card to the FA for 2 bottles of red wine. I then heard the FA say that because she used her *something or other* credit card her drinks were discounted. Obviously I missed the most important part of that conversation and wondered if anyone knew what credit card CO offers in-flight drink discounts with? At first I assumed it was a CO Onepass/Presidential Plus card, but I haven't seen any mention of this in the fine print.

If you use the Continental Chase Mastercard, you receive $2 off each alcoholic beverage. The same $2 discount applies to the DirecTV service as well. I wish the Visa card offered the same discount.

I used both my Chase Cont'l Visa and Chase MC and received no discount on the drinks or Direct TV even though it was advertised repeatedly. The FA told me to call Chase. Chase told me to contact Continental. Continental told me to contact Chase. Just a few $ lost but still... quite frustrating!

I used my Chase Continental MC on two flights for purchases which qualify for the $2 discounts, but when my MC statement came, all charges were at the full price. Spent 35 minutes on the phone with Continental CustomerCare trying to straighten this out. They submitted a refund request - we'll see if it works. I wonder if lots of people are being charged incorrectly?

The machine is supposed to charge the discounted price on the AC. In fact, a little note pops up on our screen that says so. If you want a receipt you gotta ask. Although some FA's take it upon themselves to offer the receipt every time, policy is to not offer or give it unless asked.
I haven't had a problem so far with the discount being properly credited at the time of sale.

Sarah was flying without me last week & told me about the following (without me asking... which I thought was odd of her): The person next to her ordered a drink & paid with a CO something card. The receipt showed the full price and the customer disputed it with the FA, who said she couldn't do anything but the customer would have to call Chase to figure it out later. The pax suggested that the FA just give them a second bottle and "call it even", to which the FA happily obliged. I wonder if the FA got a bottle from the F cabin to make it 'even' in the paperwork.
