UA allows connections via Europe to Asia/Australia at a slight mileage premium.

There are "direct" flights from the US to Asia that stop in Europe (SQ61 IAH-[SVO]-SIN) that have counted as TAPC when dealing with M+.
My guess is that connection will be allowed through Europe although a mileage penalty will be applied to the flights. Likewise I also suspect direct flights, even if they have a "stop" in Europe will be counted as a TPAC flight for purposes of reward redemption.

South Asia has its own award under the CO system, so it may be that flights like SQ JFK-FRA-SIN and IAH-DME-SIN are allowed TATL or Considered TPAC like you said.

Hi Scott, congratulations - I'm sure this was a huge effort.

I do have a comment and question.

1. The verbiage regarding *G lounge access is contradictory between the *G benefits page (https://www.continental.com/web/en-U...ralliance.aspx) and everything else, including your posts. Benefits page says:

Airport Lounge Access - available worldwide for you and a friend†† when you travel with any Star Alliance member airline, regardless of your class of travel.††

†† Guests must enter with eligible Star Alliance Gold customer and must depart on a Star Alliance airline, though not necessarily on the same flight. Status level benefits vary among frequent flyer programs.
Implication is that this isn't limited to international itineraries.

2. Do we earn RDM/EQM on Swiss Privatair flights?

And now on to figure out a MR to stay gold.

Just a heads up to validate mileage quoted on awards booked on the phone.

I was quoted just 70K for a NA-Caribbean in F which should have been 60K (it's 60K J or 2-class F, 80K 3-class F, and I have only 2-class planes on a mix of AC, CO, UA, and US metal :D , and it looks like I'm in compliance with the 1 stopover + 1 open jaw rules).

I'm being told a UA segment is pushing it up to the 3-class price, despite it being only 2-class. I have it on hold, and was told to call in the morning to have the *A desk look at it.

Heh, some things never change. I'm on Agent #4 trying to get this thing sorted.

The bug seems to be that some domestic UA segments in F are pushing the award up to the 3-class F level, despite being a on a 2-class plane.

One agent said he "got it to work" but really manually forced it, which choked up ticketing.

let me chime in. i'll say yes to both RDM and EQM for swiss privatair since they are technically *A.

also, if you're *G or above, you cannot use the RCC on a domestic itinerary. but you can use the SK lounge in SFO or the LH lounge in IAD (which is a great lounge btw) on a domestic itinerary. just show your boarding pass and *G card.

RCC and PC clubs, i assume, will only give *G admittance on INTL flights.

For me, RCC access is what I wanted most. Now I get to join the mice at the IAD RCCs ;).

And get to pay $5.00 - 7.00 for a beer or cocktail :td: when the RCC members pay nothing in the PC

I assume you're correct - I think CO needs to fix the wording. I'd *like* it to include domestic (would drop the Plat card), but it's clear from multiple other sources that it does not.

"pround member of Star Alliance" reminds me of "proud sponsor of the US Olympics".

Is there a bumper sticker with "embarassed sponsor of the US Olympics"?! :)

Modifiers can be so much fun!

I should have known that Scott would post at midnight Smith Street time. :D

Thanks, Scott! You went above and beyond the call. ^

Lounge access... more perplexed... from the UAL site:

Any Mileage Plus members flying in first or business class on United or Continental can also access the President's Club lounges. Additionally, Premier Executive, 1K and Global Services members can access these lounges when traveling with a same-day international ticket.
So domestic First on UAL get's PC access? Do we?

Thanks Scott, this update is much appreciated. Still getting my head round the details.

Will take my first CO Star Alliance flight in a few hours.

(The FA on the flight last night stumbled over her briefing announcement, she recognized she was being a little premature. :D)

well I dont believe that was the case was it for the flights that Privatair flew under KLM. And its not any different from say a CO code-share on a non-*A Carrier. So I would think flying VS might get me CO credit but not UA credit, same with QF

Swiss is a *A member , I never saw anything saying that Privatair is as well
