Noted. Please note that the CO program at EWR will start at 3PM and that it will only be open to members booked on LH405.

Looking at the seat map, looks like the blocked coach section is rows 43 to 53 - the rear most section just behind the galley. Although a couple of open seats in rows 48 and 49. So the Flyertalkers will be at the ends of the cabin, with the regular passengers in the middle.

Since the charter is falling into place and will be finalized soon, we thought we can publish the TATL fares for those who will join us from NYC, Canada and other US cities:

http://travel.webshots.com/photo/273...99207672URdXuE

http://travel.webshots.com/photo/247...99207672GGLAsT

As most FT veterans know the above are the bare fares and you have to add taxes and fuel surcharge.

For example:

1. Flyertalker starts in NYC, comes back to NYC after the event

In Y-CL: NYC LH FRA 175.00 VNCS1 LH NYC 175.00 VNCS1 NUC 350.00 END ROE 1.00 FARE USD 350.00 XT 5.50YC 7.00XY 5.00XA 32.20US 2.50AY 8.50DE 31.50RA 180.00YQ 4.50XF JFK4.50
i.e. Fare 350$, tax & YQ 276.70
Total cost: 626.70$ plus charter plus hotel

In C-CL: Fare 1575$, tax and YQ 276.70
Total cost: 1851.70$ plus charter plus hotel

2. Flyertalker starts in LAX, comes back to LAX

same as the NYC example 1 as taxes and YQ are the same.

3. Flyertalker starts in NYC, travels to MUC after event, comes back to DTT after a stopover in MUC:

In Y-CL: NYC LH FRA 150.00 LH MUC 175.00VNCS1 LH X/FRA LH DTT 175.00VNCS1 NUC 500.00 END ROE 1.00 FARE USD 500.00 XT 5.50YC 7.00XY 5.00XA 32.20US 2.50AY 23.10DE 19.00RA 47.20RD 228.00YQ 4.50XF JFK4.50
i.e. Fare 500$, tax & YQ 404.50
Total cost: 904.50$ plus charter plus hotel

As mentioned earlier, this fare is only available via us & LH group sales in NYC contacts, so please don't call LH to book this. Once we are ready to accept bookings, I will start emailing the participants with instructions on how to book.

Thanks Oliver. We are almost there with the charter

COVA: We have asked LH to block the front seats in Y so we will have the entire mid section of the flight. Thanks for the heads up

when I try to click at the picture to get a readable (larger) one it just opens some flash crap saying "This photo may only be saved by friends ". Can't you just upload it as a large png or pdf instead of all this flash pain that doesn't work?

Thanks Oliver, though the images are just tiny thumbnails for me... no "flash crap", but certainly not readable

Also, LH are currently having a sale $498 return (economy) including taxes & surcharges JFK-FRA (of course, not on that flight, as it's fully booked for us in pretty much every class...)

OK fare - but CO is also cheaper from DCA. Also note to those who are *A members (who may not be on the sold out LH 405 flight), coming from another destination:
"Combinations: Upgrades are not permitted".

Also LH IAD-FRA - RT Out Nov 3rd, Return Nov 9th (my return date) is $540 RT total. Although there may be some fee involved in the pricing to cover some of the events - which is fine.

First of all, this fare is booking in to V class and you are free to take your return to any LH gateway making the price as low as you can get it (to simplify this huge task of putting this DO together). So for me who is returning to ORD, it's a great fare.

Also, how do you propose that we solve this? Let some buy tickets in K class for 498 and after about 15 seats are sold in this class let the rest of the Flyertalkers book in different booking classes all the way up to M or H for 900 USD?

We are taking up half of the seats of this aircraft for a fare that I think is very fair.

Absolutely not. Only a very few seats are sold at the price you are comparing to here. For this to be fair, LH has loaded extra many seats at one of the lowest prices so some members won't pay 1300 USD while others get away with 540. LH will make less money on this group than if we were priced individually, especially since we have people returning to LAX, SFO, SEA etc.

Quite fair in my book

I agree, it is fair. But what's not fair is not letting people in to the CO Do beforehand unless they're booked on LH405 - a flight which is pretty much completely blocked off except for using these fares. It would be much cheaper for me, and many others, if we were able to include LH405 as part of a wider ticket, for example:

AKL-LAX-NYC-FRA-LAX-AKL, or similar, or as part of a RTW as previously mentioned. Is there absolutely no leeway here where we can PM or email someone and have some availability opened up for this scenario?

I would really love to come to NYC beforehand to welcome CO to the Star Alliance, but buying all these seperate tickets when it could be done in one seems silly to me

I mean absolutely no disrespect - I certainly understand this is difficult to coordinate to cater for absolutely everyone, and appreciate all the efforts that have been put into this Do so far! ^

The easiest way out is to just hit Print Screen and paste the results in a document, then crop and enlarge to suit and print on your favourite printer. (For those using Linux or Mac, you're on your own here! I'm sure there must be some free screen capture app or command....)
