wow, this is turning into a telenovela.

jfkeze Aug 13, 2009 7:19 am

ok, so we have some interest in a charter bus... perhaps a 2.30 departure?, that would give the 1.45 arrivals plenty of time to collect luggage etc...

we can also all book the same bus (in advance) and turn into a quasi-charter (3.15 Bus)

You aren't kidding! Man i think i hate iberia. How is it everyone was able to get on that flight and myself and my friend had to route through chicago according to the iberia lady b/c the 12:45pm mad-bcn was full? What a liar!

*scream*

I suppose i should look on the bright side. Maybe we can store our luggage somewhere [recommendations?] and since we get into bcn now at 930am have most of the day to explore bcn before getting on a bus to andorra for the evening activities.

If you're thinking of combining an airport pick-up with one somewhere in the City, then I'm sure there'll be enough for a big bus for early afternoon on the Friday (see posts around #477). Or maybe a better option is for two buses: airport-Andorra for the party-plane arrivals and city centre (somewhere) for those overnighting (or more) in Barcelona. I've no idea how quick/cheap travel to/from airport from/to city centre is, though. Return trips seem to be much more diverse among DOOers, so maybe that's best arranged when in Andorra.

I just looked again at the bus site, it says you can also "charter" a bus with 7 seats for 260.00 €, so per head that would be:

260.00 € People
65.00 € 4
52.00 € 5
43.33 € 6
37.14 € 7

Using the Regular Buses
28.00 € Bus Station
31.00 € Hotels

So it seems its cheaper just to take the regular bus , unless we are a group of 7 but it anything less than 7 people is pricey...

http://www.hola-andorra.com/arinsal/...novatelgb.html
"Charter" buses and regular bus schedule "Novatel"

Another schedule:
http://www.andorra.com/uk/comunica/horari01.htm I can't seem to be able to book a España/Andorra ticket on www.eurolines.es

actually according your table above, unless i am missing something, it is still cheaper to take the regular bus than the charter by a couple of dollars, no?

Just on a point of clarification, is that the English or American usage of the adjective? Or do the $ signs give the game away? Or, I suppose, one could be pi$$£d in both senses of the word!

actually if you buy a RT bus ticket you get 20 % off of that rate, so it comes out for around 23 € each way. You can buy a RT ticket with an open return and the discount is the same. If you buy tickets from the bus station to Andorra (www.alsa.es) you can get seats pre-assigned.

Yeah... but they don't want to give out the Emergency exit rows :mad:...
Keep on calling, plenty of available seats, except for some reason on the 12.45 flight, only rows that are open are 22-30 :(

I got:
11J on the JFK-MAD flight IB6252
22D on the MAD-BCN flight IB6766
and my lovely exit row on the AA 151 /IB 7085 on the return! :D:D
If they mess with that seat on the return... its war! ;)

regarding the bus, yeap its 6-7 euros more... what we could do is book seats on the 3.30 bus and make it an unofficial Doo party bus :p

Hi everyone, just a note that I've updated the first post with some new information. Specifically, we've changed venues on Friday night to a nicer place with more room. Our original venue wasn't going to be able to accomodate our numbers.

While we're at it I'll answer a few questions I've received in PM over the last couple of days here so everyone can benefit.

A couple of people have asked if it's OK that they stay at a different hotel. Sure, it's fine, no problem, stay wherever you like. Since we're in-between seasons in Andorra I'm sure there are some bargains to be found. That said, the official hotel is where we'll be holding BOO DOO registration on Friday, distributing your official BOO DOO SIX Welcome Pack and Andorra Survival Guide, and holding the unannounced-so-far welcome cocktail party sponsored by RIMARTS. It's also where BOO DOOers will be sharing stories of the previous night over the best breakfast buffet in town. Choose wisely.

For those of you who need to make a change to your hotels, you can do so on the web site. Someone wanted to switch from a double to a single room; no problem. Just remove the doubles and add singles, then check out again. The system will issue a refund to your card for the difference.

There was an error on the web site that limited the tour to ten people. This isn't the case, and if you were waitlisted of flat-out denied when signing up for Monday's tour you can try again as it should work OK now.

Also a bit of bad news: it seems that Caldea did not reserve the 20 spaces they were supposed to for the spa so some will not make it in. We're still working with them to try to resolve the situation but I won't have final details until early next week. Anyone who already paid for a club admission will be refunded, and of course can still go to the regular spa without club access. More as soon as we know.

Finally, here's a few photos of our day(s)trip earlier this week to whet your appetites. Sorry they're so big!
