"Puente Aereo"/MAD-BCN Shuttle...
I think a few FT are on the 10:45 and 11:45 flights..
Iberia just changed my ticket AGAIN , putting me on the 10:45 AM, seems like a tight connection when landing at 10:15

I should be paying my BooDoo bill later this week... :D

Actually, the puente aéreo flights don't have seats reserved, nor "room" or buckets or anything similar. In addition to IB's regular scheduled flights, of which there are about 15/day, they operate up to 30 Puente Aéreo flights that are first-come-first served, just like the city bus. You get in line and get on the next one with room on it. In the morning and evening they leave about 15 minutes apart. I know if you have a full-fare ticket in either Y or C and miss your connection they will honor it on the Puente Aéreo flights but not sure about discount fares.

They leave from a different terminal in BCN (2C) and it can be a long walk, dunno about Madrid. Regardless, 30 minutes is a doable connection in MAD. Not guaranteed but I would certainly try it.

GK Aug 12, 2009 3:45 am

it's the same terminal in Madrid, just different check-in zone

GK Aug 12, 2009 3:59 am

Have registered for Fri and Sat dinner and of course the Hotel.. planning to crash out and do very little during the day time !

Thanks Alan for the tips regarding the Puente Aereo...
Iberia decided to send me yet another email... now they booked me on the 12:45 flight landing at 1:55 PM  oh well, we still have three months, I'm sure I'll get another couple of schedule changes... :p

29OCT IB 6252 Dept : 22:05 Arrival: 10:15 (Party Plane) :D
30OCT IB 6766 Dept : 12:45 Arrival: 13:55 (I might walk up with my carryon to the other desks and see if they show some love and put be on an earlier flight, if not the MAD lounges are a nice place to spend a few hours :))
02NOV IB 7085 (aka AA 151) Dept: 11:00

so any updates on the BCN to Andorra transportation? I know we have a decent size of people landing on Friday....

http://www.hola-andorra.com/arinsal/...novatelgb.html

I might take the 3 PM bus from the airport or try to go standby land earlier and take the 1 PM bus...

I'm returning to BCN sunday afternoon, staying in the city (at Kabul) :D

This really pisses me off. when I called IB a couple of days ago to reschedule since the dc flights are no more, they cleared me for the party plane jfk-mad but told me that the 1245pm to bcn was sold out, so we got stuck routing through chicago. and they reminded me that once i picked the new itinerary i cant make more changes without a fee. so i accept the routing through chicago and now two days later they put you on the 12:45. what gives? really expect me to believe someone cancelled off that flight in just 2 days. grrr

as a side note, i'm returning to BCN sunday afternoon too.

Aren't you a Comodoro on LAN? perhaps call again and say "you guys/IB" have changed my reservation a dozen times, I'm a partner elite member, treat me with respect... :p I did that when they wanted to take my AA emergency exit seat from me...

dragonfirebcn Aug 12, 2009 10:12 am

remember that (generally) in the mediterranean culture, the one who screams louder is the one who is right! so, use your lungs and make a couple of hate-calls to IB call centre. On the 3rd call, for sure, you'll have all your problems solved!

FYI after another time driving up there and back earlier this week, I have to say that planning to take a car is NUTS. It's a long and tiring drive. Lots of windey mountain roads. Stuck behind trucks doing 30 km/h, more than $25 in tolls, waiting at the border for immigration and customs, and there is No. Place. To. Park.

Seriously. Take the bus.

Thanks again for the advice alan!!
I just looked again at the bus site, it says you can also "charter" a bus with 7 seats for 260.00 €, so per head that would be:

260.00 € People
65.00 € 4
52.00 € 5
43.33 € 6
37.14 € 7

Using the Regular Buses
28.00 € Bus Station
31.00 € Hotels

So it seems its cheaper just to take the regular bus , unless we are a group of 7 but it anything less than 7 people is pricey...

"Charter" buses and regular bus schedule "Novatel"

Another schedule:
http://www.andorra.com/uk/comunica/horari01.htm I can't seem to be able to book a España/Andorra ticket on www.eurolines.es

Bus schedules

I just found this link:

http://autobusandorra.blogspot.com/

All the schedules to/from Barcelona city, airport and train station, and from AVE station in Lleida are in there. It's in spanish but I guess everybody can undertand what is stated there!

Well I do have a vehicle reserved.

Is it really that bad?

By the way could you add a +1 to my registration. Thanks

taking flight Aug 12, 2009 8:55 pm

Mr. taking flight and I were going to be on the IAD-MAD flight with jenniparks. We were changed to the Party Bus and the 12:45 flight to BCN. Quite a hassle with IB trying to get seat assignments, however I was finally successful after my third phone call. I can't wait to see what the next schedule change will bring.
