I'd like to propose a Post-DEQM Happy Hour and dinner the weekend of June 20-21. I'll be interested to find out which of us pulled in the most miles, and where everyone traveled to earn those miles, during the DEQM period that ends around June 15. Maybe the rest of the attendees could buy the winner's (or loser, if most of the miles were done in Y) drinks.
I'd suggest a centrally located venue in DC. The Nationals are playing Toronto in town both days. Saturday's game starts at 7:30 pm, while Sunday's game is an afternoon affair, which should be completed by 4:30 p.m. I mention that only for traffic-expectation and venue availability purposes.
So, who's interested? Where should we plan to meet? Which day works better for folks?

The timeframe should work for me - how about that mexican place up near HeadInClouds place? He'll know the name (as obviously I don't). It was used for the baseball-Do and other get togethers. They have an outdoor patio upstairs that could be nice and it's away from game traffic, I'd think. Or since this is a weekend, do we want to head up to Bethesda to give those MD'ers a break? Lots of good options there, but parking is sometimes tough.

I'm in. Sounds like fun. I guess I'd vote for Sunday, but either day should work.
If the Mexican place doesn't pan out, we could try something on 8th street (barrack's row). It's actually reasonably easy to get there both from Virginia and Maryland. Plus it's eminently metro-able.

Sunday's better for me (though I can also do Saturday). Unless there's a big push for Saturday in the next 3 days, I'll fix the date as Sunday, June 21.
GoingAway: I've never had good luck parking in Bethesda, though could be persuaded to give it another try if there's a groundswell of interest from our Free State contingent. I agree that there are some interesting choices there.
I've heard good things about the food at Lauriol Plaza, so that's a possibility (and it looks like there are enough not-too-spicy menu choices to keep me happy). If we're going to pick a DC venue, Sunday will probably make parking easier.
FBKSan: Any particular suggestions on barracks' row? If we don't make it there this time, it's definitely a location we should keep in mind for the future.
Are there any restaurants with ample outdoor seating and a decent menu that someone could recommend? I'd note that the 21st is the longest day of the year, so al fresco dining might be especially pleasant that day (I know we've had weather issues when we've tried outdoor dining in the past, but I'm willing to give it another shot).

As I mentioned to UHNBuzzard - awesome offer ^ but my preference would be to stay with Lauriol Plaza for the end of June meet and try to schedule this for a different date (and maybe a Saturday?) later in the summer. I'll go with the group decision, though.

Got tied up with life and was unable to make it out. Was everyone able to get together? How was it?
I've never attended a FT get-together before so please let me know if there are any others scheduled for the DC area. Thanks!

Lots of places have outdoor seating, which is nice, though a few are limited inside. The new Molly Malone's is good, since there's outdoor and (lots of) indoor seating. Jordan's 8 also has a rooftop patio, though I don't know how bit it is.

How about Cantina Maria (??) on the waterfront? Odds of a rainout should be low....
Sunday is the better day for me.

We've tried Cantina Marina twice, and been rained on both times. I'm willing to try again, but I wasn't all that impressed with the food. If we're thinking something al fresco, I'd rather go with one of FBKSan's suggestions, or maybe the Annapolis boating adventure that UNHBuzzard has generously proposed (though I, like GoingAway, would prefer doing that on a Saturday, later this summer, when being out on the Bay will be a nice way to escape the summer heat).
With headincloud's comment, I count 3 votes for Sunday with no one saying they are unavailable then. Accordingly, our next HH will be on Sunday, June 21st. All that's left now is to finalize our location . . .
