Just wanted to provide a quick post-ANC MR update. Arrived late Friday night from MSY (along with 3 other FT's making the same run, as it turns out) and decided to rent a car for the next day. Headed down south stopping every mile or so for photos and then to hike out to Byron Glacier (which was spectacular). Factoring in all the stops, the hike, and lunch... that took up most of the day. I headed back to ANC and took Jackal's advice on the parmesan/asiago-crusted halibut cheeks at Simon and Seafort's. All I can say is "WOW". I'd never had Halibut cheek and what a delicacy that was.

Already looking forward to planning a return. This February is supposedly one of the best Northern Lights viewing opportunities in years, so maybe then.

Excellent! Do look us up next time you're in town! Sorry to have missed you this time.

And especially now that Simon's is an iDine/Rewards Network/WhateverIt'sCalledTheseDays place, I'm quite tempted to head down there for that same delicacy soon...

I will be in town but will most likely be occupied with family who live in town. Will try to say hi if I can, though.
