Well, I'm all paid up for Friday... but sorry to say that I won't be joining you guys on Saturday - LuLu is just too expensive for me. Looking forward to Buca though!

Folks,

I'm happy to report that Restaurant LuLu has been flexible and has lowered our minimums, so we're good to go. Instead of getting all of the Bis room we're only getting whatever amount of it we need, but there should be a paritition between us and the others.

^ Very glad to hear this! I've been looking forward to eating at LuLu -- haven't been there yet. I imagine they would rather accommodate ~40 people in part of the Bis room rather than zero people, if it came to that. ;)

That being said, feel free to continue to register. Both restaurants are pretty flexible with guest counts, so registration will be open at least through the end of this week.

Thanks!:)
I have another kind of dumb question, and it may have already been answered somewhere on this thread, but here goes: The fixed prices we've paid include a complete multi-course meal, with water & (perhaps) iced tea/other soft drinks, but any other drinks (beer, wine, mixed drinks, etc.) are extra, correct? Or do we order/pay for iced tea/soft drinks separately as well? (No biggie, just like to know the drill.)

At Buca soft drinks are included, while they're extra at LuLu. Alcohol is not included at either restaurant.

Wow, now I'm really sure I can't afford LuLu. :p I drink Diet Coke like a fish! Well, like a fish who lives in Diet Coke.

Don't worry, you are not missing anything. I am sorry to report that LuLu has gone way downhill in the last 5 years. It was great when it first opened, but alas it has jumped the shark. Not that Buca is special, but it is great for a large group and not overpriced.

Sorry, but nobody consulted me. :D

Folks, one more spot for the Gate Gourmet tour. If you're interested, please PM me!

Looks like I'm out of town for this one to some far away country. Hope you guys have fun in SF.

Buster CT1K Sep 20, 2008 3:20 pm

Buster CT1K will be at Le Meridien. I arrive late Friday evening so Friday dinner is out.

Sat dinner is possible. What time is dinner at LuLu expected to conclude? I have a Magnitude ticket.

I also hope to make Sun dim sum. It depends on how late I'm up the previous night.

lucky9876coins Sep 20, 2008 3:33 pm

OK, have you down for the LM. I'd say Saturday dinner could be done as early as 9:30 (if you need to leave), and probably no later than 10.

Would be nice if you made it!

I know I was tentatively decided to attend but will have to unfortunately miss this event altogether. I have business trip planned that will take me through the weekend and part of the following week.

it would have been nice to see old friends and meet new people. This event sounds great and I hope everyone has a great time!
