I'm going to guess 46 minutes, Kevincm.:)

Stacey, I would be very sad if you and Peter couldn't make it.:( I'm sure I'll see both of you soon again regardless.

I think it'll take you 28 minutes, assuming that you are carrying you bags with you. I'm counting from the minute they open the aircraft door til you walk into the International Food Court.

28 minutes.. checking how UA 995 is doing (arriving 30 minutes early or so) , this is quite achievable (I'll see how fast I can run from the back of the 747 to immigration). I'll have my USA Number active by then... once the SIM card arrives.... :)

Errm. Wolves were the team I supported at Uni. When in the states I can take the 5th regarding the perennial underperformance (considering I used to live about 5 minutes walk from the ground), the bad premiership year and other fun Football (the one with the round ball, actual kicking used, played in 90 or so minutes with a nice 15 minute pie break in the middle)

Would you accept a bribe in exchange for bringing me some wine gums?

I'll take a bribe in the form of Peanut butter oreos ;) Then we can talk business ;) :D

Current bets:
46 minutes lucky9876coins
28 minutes sfogate
32 minutes Daringdoo
66 minutes goalie

I'll go with 32 minutes (what does that work out to in metric?) :D

I think meeting at the food court is a terrific idea and will join the gang there before heading over to GG.

It'll be my first time at SFO... so I'll be the lost looking Brit (with Flyertalk tags obviously!)

I'd better download a map when I get 5, and work out the fastest route from International Arrivals.

66 minutes from wheels stop/the seatbelt sign gets turned off to finding lucky (and i'll take anything other than fish 'n chips ;) [tho a single cuban cigar would be nice but not gonna have you risk that with customs as then everyone's bet's go out the window .....])

Goalie, for the sake of uniformity - how about from the time the door opens - I think that is how everyone else is basing their w.a.g.

Is anyone not on the list in the OP either staying at the IC or planning on staying there? If so, please let me know ASAP, I have good reasons for asking.:p

Thanks!:)

I was thinking of staying downtown SF on Thursday night and just take BART out to SFO for the GG tour Friday afternoon. Now I'm considering staying near SFO on Thursday night, and head into town after the tour.

So for folks staying near SFO on Thursday, or flying in on Friday, is there a convenient place to leave our bags during the tour? Since the SFO Marriott is the one I'm considering, I guess I could check out, leave my bags there, take tour, then return to pick up my bags and then return to SFO to jump on BART.....

lucky9876coins Sep 4, 2008 2:09 pm

We'll be able to store out bags at the Gate Gourmet facilities during the tour.:)

Lucky, i'll be staying at the IC! Once i get round to booking a room this weekend! LOL

You've got a deal! I don't recall ever seeing Peanut Butter Oreos but I'll be looking for some at the grocery store this weekend. :D

This may have been answered somewhere on this thread already, but I didn't see it in the obvious places:

Is there a deadline for registering for the dinners? And/or is there a limit on the number of attendees? Where do things stand with that?

Now that this is ~3 weeks away, I guess I need to make some decisions about attending.

lucky9876coins Sep 6, 2008 6:21 am

Kathy, the deadline to register is September 15. Saturday night dinner is capped to 80, but there's no limit for Friday dinner.

Hope you make it!^

Thanks for the update (& I see you updated the OP as well.) ^

Here's something that might be of interest to participants (or even non-participants): Smithsonian Magazine sponsors an annual nationwide Museum Day which, this year, falls on Saturday, September 27. If you print out an admission card (available via the URL below), you can obtain free general admission for two people to one participating museum. In San Francisco, participating museums are:

Exploratorium

Museum of Craft and Folk Art

Museum of the African Diaspora

SF Camerawork

(The free admission card is not specific to a museum -- just print it by providing contact info, and decide later where to use it.)

See the link for further details & to print card:

http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/...day/about.html

(This was posted recently on the S.P.A.M. forum of FT, so thanks to that poster for reminding me about it!)
